Chapter 7

7:20 PM:
"Hey Kenna." Savannah said glumly as she took her seat in the front row of the arena.
"You missed the first few songs." She informed her best friend, while keeping her focus on the five men on stage.
"No I didn't. I was standing to the side."
"Oh." She responded. "I was beginning to think that you weren't coming."
"I almost didn't"
"I'm glad you did."
Savannah just glanced at McKenna and then returned her attention to the stage.
"Justin and Joey keep looking down here. I think they're looking for you."
"Yeah, I doubt that." Savanna said.
McKenna just shrugged her shoulders and continued to watch the concert.

10:15 PM:
"I'm so glad this concert is over." Savannah said. "Now we can go home, and I can forget that I ever met them."
"Yeah well, um… We still have to meet them back stage." McKenna enlightened Savannah.
"Sorry, Kenna... I'm NOT going." She told her sternly.
"Yeah Hollywood, you are." McKenna nodded her head.
Next thing Savannah knew she was being lifted up by a large man and thrown delicately over his shoulder.
"Let's go little lady." He said as he began walking down a long, narrow hallway.
"PUT ME DOWN, NOW!!!" Savanah yelled kicking her feet wildly. "PUT ME DOWN!!!"
"Let her go." McKenna instructed.

"Thank you." She said frustrated. "God, what is it with you big dudes?" Savannah said as she caught a glimpse of who was standing in front of her.
"Kenna? How could you?" Savannah turned to her best friend with a hurt expression upon her face and in her eyes. She then turned around and ran past NSYNC.
"Hi." JC said uncomfortably.
"HI." McKenna and Devin said.
"Great concert." Devin told them.
"Thanks." They all said.
"So…" Devin said feeling a bit uneasy.
"We should probably go get showered and changed." Justin said as he walked away.
"Yeah. We should probably take this opportunity to shower after our concert. Since we get to do that on a very rare occasion." Joey said following Justin.
"They're right." Lance said as JC, Chris, and himself followed Joey and Justin to the showers

"JC." Justin said.
"Yeah Jus?" JC replied as he took his sweaty shirt off and threw it onto a nearby chair.
"Do you think I was wrong to get mad at Savannah over that whole guy thing?" He asked as he threw his shirt onto the tiled floor.
"The important thing isn't what I think. It's what you think." JC told him as he got into the hot, steamy shower.
"Yeah, I guess you're right."
"I am." JC said.
"But what should I do?" Justin asked grabbing himself a towel.
"The only advice I can give you is follow your heart. It'll make the right decision."
"That's all?" He asked stepping into the shower.
"That's all." JC answered as he rinsed the shampoo out of his hair.
"Thanks a lot JC. You've been a big help." Justin said sarcastically as he applied shampoo to his curly blond hair.
"No problem." JC said as he wrapped himself in a warm towel.

"What's her problem?" McKenna asked.
"Let's think about this one McKenna." Devin said. "She didn't want to see them, remember?"
"Yeah, but I didn't think she was actually serious." McKenna informed her. "I mean I know how much she likes Justin and Joey." Sh said pathetically.

Meanwhile Justin was listening around the corner, but left before he heard McKenna say that Savannah liked Joey as well.

"I guess you're right. I should probably go talk to her."
"Good idea." Devin agreed.

"Savannah." Justin said as he sat next to her on the backdoor steps.
"Leave me alone." She said softly, with her face buried into her knees.
"I can't."
"Yeah, you can Justin."
"I know I can, but I won't."
"Why? I thought you hated me?"
"I didn't mean it."
"Yeah, I'm sure."
"I didn't mean it like that."
"How did you mean it then? Because where I come from, when you tell someone you hate them-"
"I was just mad." Justin said cutting her off.
"Yeah, I've hear you're not the only one."
"But, I've gotten over it. I mean I realized that we had something special at the party that night."
"Do you really want to know what we had? We had nothing but harmless, old fashion fun. Don't get me wrong, I like you and all, but there wasn't anything special betwen us. Besides, I could never picture myself with a guy like you." She knew in her heart she was just making up an excuse, because she did picture herself with a guy like him.
"What do you mean…you couldn't picture a girl like you with a guy like me?"
"Well, you're you. You're rich and famous and cute and you could have any girl you wanted." Savannah stated the facts.
"But I want you."
Savannah ignored what Justin had just said. She couldn't and wouldn't believe it. It seemed too good to be true. "And well, I'm just plain old normal."
"I'm normal too. Don't you see that? Why can't you see that? Why can't anyone see that?" Justin said. "Besides, what does being famous have to do with anything?"
"It has everything to do with it Justin." She looked at him, wanting to cry. But she with held her tears.
"No..." Justin said taking her face in his hands. "This has everything to do with it." He leaned over and kissed her. "Think about it." He said once they had parted. He then got up and went back into the building.

"Hi." McKenna said as she ran into Savannah coming around a corner.
"What do you want, McKenna?"
"I just wanted to tell you that I was sorry. It's just that I know you and you would never have talked to them again, if you weren't willing to see them. But I know now that I can't make your decisions for you. You have to make them." McKenna said apologetically. "Do you forgive me?"
"Yeah, Kenna I do. Just don't ever try anything like that again." Savannah said with a small laugh. "Let's go find the rest of the guys."
Savannah and McKenna continued to walk down the quiet hallway with their arms around each other's shoulders.
"You have to admit it was a pretty good plan." McKenna said. Savannah just shot her a look and then joined her in a song of laughter.
"Hi guys!" Savannah said with her voice filled with happiness.
"What's up with you?"
"What ever do you mean?" She said with a small laugh.
"A half hour a go you were all mad and not talking to us…and now you're all happy. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But…" Chris said.
"I realized I wasn't mad at you guys…I was just a little frustrated. Let's just say I checked back into reality."
"Whatever." Lance said.
"Bottom line is I'm sorry. You guys forgive me?"
Everyone but Joey nodded.
"Joey? Do you?" Savannah asked taking a step closer to him. She really was hoping that he would. She truly and honestly felt something about him deep in her soul. "You know you want to." She joked, smiling.
"I don't think I couldn't forgive you." He said slowly. Joey then gave her a quick and gentle peck on the cheek.
"Great!"
"You know what? I say we go to the boardwalk. We don't have to leave town until a little later. We might as well check it out while we're here." Lance suggested.
"Cool!" Savannah chimed in. "It's one of my favorite places."
"I hate the beach." McKenna mumbled.
"You don't have to go." Savannah said looking at her with raised eyebrows.
"Fine. I'll go."
"Great!" Everyone agreed.
