Prologue
“Nick, I love you.”
“Becca…I…I need to tell you something.”
“What is it Nick?”
“I’m going out with someone else…I was going to tell you earlier, but, well…”
“You’re kidding, right? I mean, this is just some sort of sick joke. And why tell me NOW? You disgust me Nick. I hope I never have to see your face again.”
Becca woke up with tears streaming down her face. She remembered her old Nick. They were best friends. They had sleepovers; they were each other’s first kiss…they were inseparable. Then when they were 15 they started going out. They were best couple as seniors, went to the prom together, and still managed to be best friends. When they turned 20, it started getting a little weird feeling for Becca, like he was hiding something. Whenever she confronted him about it, he just said, “I love you, Becca. I wouldn’t hurt you.” At that time, Becca wasn’t ready to tell him that she loved him…even though she did and he knew it. She knew she’d tell him when the time was right. And that time turned out to be totally wrong. And now, two years later, she was almost out of college, and was going to be a dance teacher, and maybe one day a choreographer for some famous band. She prayed everyday that that would happen. She had been told that there were a few openings for choreographers, and she was probably going to decide to take one. By now, she thought she had pushed Nick out of her mind. Then all of a sudden she started having flashback dreams. It was kind of scary. But she realized she might need to get used to it.
