Meanwhile, Gabby was in her calculus class talking with a guy named Andy. After class, they went to a little coffee shop down the street to study for an exam. As they were looking over a chapter Gabby noticed he kept stealing glances at her.
"Yes?" she said raising an eyebrow.
"You have beautiful eyes." he said obviously flirting.
"Oh?" she said playing dumb.
"Yeah." he said before leaning in and kissing Gabby.
She let his lips roam hers for a few seconds, then pulled back.
"I have to go." she said grabbing her bag and running out of the coffee shop.
She felt disgusted with herself. She wondered if she should tell someone. She didn't know, but she did know she may have just ruined her entire relationship with AJ, for one second of temptation.
That night, when Julia headed to Nick's her mood was much lighter.
"Hey." Nick said answering the door.
"Hi. What's the plan for tonight?" Julia said as the walked inside.
Nick walked over to the coffee table and picked up a movie.
"Aliens." he said with a big smile.
"Great." she said unenthusiastically.
They got on the couch and turned the movie on. About halfway through the movie, Nick turned towards Julia.
"So, did you talk to Devon?" Nick asked lightly.
"No, he refuses to take my calls. How mature is that? Anyways, once he does take my calls, I am telling him our relationship is over. He isn't even nice to me." Julia said.
Nick nodded and turned off the TV.
"I have something I want you to hear." Nick said getting up.
He lead her into his music room, where he would write, record and edit songs. Julia sat down in a chair.
"Me, Brian and AJ wrote and recorded this song today." Nick said pressing a button.
A beautiful song came poring out of the speakers. Then she recognized Nick's voice.
Baby, you deserve much better
What's the use in holding on?
Can't you see it's now or never
Cause I just can't be friends
Baby, knowing in the end
That I will love you more than that
I won't say the words then take them back ...
The song played on, but Julia wasn't listening. She realized why Nick had played that song for her. After listening to it, she knew he had wrote that part for her. She didn't know how she knew, she just did. So without thinking, she stood up and kissed Nick lovingly. He responded to it immediately. And as the song kept playing, and they kept kissing each other, Julia knew Nick was the one for her.
The parted before kissing again and Julia looked up at him.
"Today doesn't suck so bad afterall." she said.
Nick laughed and met her lips in another amazing, long kiss that made Julia's head spin.
