Ring!  The alarm clock went off Saturday morning.  Kari rolled over and slammed it off.

"Guys!  Time to get up!" Kari yelled sleepily as she climbed out of her bunk.  They had a rehearsal that day.  Brian is a relatively light sleeper so he was already up.  Kevin needed to catch his bearings.  Nick, well.., he needed a little more.  Kari went and got a blow horn and gave it one sharp toot.

"Alright alright, I'm up!"  he was always a grouch.

"Hey, where Howie and A.J.?" asked Brian.

"I think they left this morning.  Look, they left a note." Kevin picked it up and read it. "Went to the store, be back later. Howie and A.J."

"O.K. as long as we know where they are."

"Hey Kari.  Do you mind it I steal something for your candy bag?  I need a boast of sugar." asked Kevin.

"Me too?" asked Nick

"*sigh*, fine.  Just don't touch the Pull n' Peel.  You want something Brian?"

"No thanks.  I'll just have cereal."

"Same here."

They finished eating and got dressed.  As they were making their beds, Leighanne showed up.  Kari hated Leighanne because she acted like a prick all of the time."

"Hi B-Rok!  You want to come with me?  I want to show you this cute little shop downtown.  Please come?"  whined Leighanne.

Karl just stared at her.  She noticed the amulet Leighanne wore glowed a little bit.

"Yo Lei.  What did you do, put a battery in that trashy thing?"  said Kari sarcastically

"No I did not.  And for your information, It isn't trashy.  It cost me hundreds of dollars."  replied Lei.

"Oh.  So its expensive trash."

"That is enough.  Cut it out you two.  I'm ready to go babe."  said Brian.

As they were leaving, Lei shot Kari a mean look.  Kari returned it.

"I don't get it.  Why don't you two get along?"  asked Kevin.

"Ask me no questions and I will tell you no lies."  replied Kari.

They went into the back of the bus to see Nick lying on the couch holding his stomach.  He did look to good.

"I knew that candy would do something if you eat it this early."  said Kari.

"Shut up.  It's just a stomach ache."  whispered Nick.

"OOOOHHHH!"  Kevin let out this huge moan.  He also was now holding his stomach.

"Oh no! Not you too!  If you guys puke, I am so out a of here." yelled Kari.

"Come help me find the stomach medicine Karbear."

Her and Nick proceeded to the front where the bathroom.  As they were looking they heard something in the back.

"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!  Guys help me something is...."  cried Kevin

There was a big flash of green light.  Then silence.  Kari and Nick almost ran back there but it was to late.  There was no Kevin.  Where he had been, a black lab.

"What the... Where's Kev?"  wondered Nick.  The dog gave out a bark and a whine.

"How did you get in here?"  said Kari in a baby voice. she slowly approached the dog.  Just then, Nick gave out a yelp.

"Something's happening to me!" he shouted.

Kari turned around to find that there was something happening to him.  His nail were like claws. His ears were pointed and his teeth turned into fangs.  A ball of light began to surround and lift him up.  Kari grabbed his hand thinking that if she kept him down, nothing would happen.  The light began to swirl and whirl.

"Hang on Nicky!  Just hang on!"  cried Kari.  She was loosing her grip.  Her hand began to ache because Nicks nails were digging into her.  Then, her grip gave away.

"OOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW!" she yelled.  She looked at her hand to see three bloody scratch marks in her hand.  The green light gave one final flash and was gone along with Nick.  Kari ran into the bathroom to tend to her wound.  She was not thinking straight.

"Oh my god, oh my god!"  she cried as she applied a gauze bandage.  "What am I going to do?  I don't know where my brother is"

As she was crying, she saw something out of the corner of her eyes.  She turned her head to find the dog.

"I wish you could tell me what's going on."

The dog seemed to nod at what she said.

"D did you just do what I think you did?"  she asked.  The dog nodded and stepped to the side.  There sat a blond colored cat.  What got to Kari was that it was wearing Nicks silver plated necklace that Kari had given to him for Christmas.

"What the....?" then she noticed that the dog was also wearing something around it's neck.  It was also silver and had a cross on it.  Kevin's cross.  Kari backed up.

"Oh my god.  Nicky?  Kevy?"

Kevin gave a little nod.  Kari just stood there.  Then she saw floor as she fainted.

Chapter 2

The images were a blur when she began to come to.  When her eyes went back to normal, she found Kevin standing above her.  She felt a little weight on her stomach so she looked up to find Nick sitting there.

"OH!  This is not real.  This is all a dream.  I just gotta wake up" she moaned.  She pinched herself hard in the arm.  It hurt.  Kevin and Nick just gave her a funny look.

"Shut up!  I should be the one making the funny looks around here."  She stopped herself.  "Oh my god, I'm taking to a cat and a dog."

She looked into Kevin's green eyes and saw he was hurt by this.

"I'm sorry Kevy."  She gave him a hug.  "I didn't mean it."

Then, she looked up with concerned and angry eyes.

"Leighanne."  Her eyes flashed with anger.  "She probably did this.  I knew she was evil, but just not a witch.  She probably put something in my candy.  Remember?  You both ate it."

Kevin and Nick looked at each other as if to say AH HA!

"Can you two understand each other?"  she asked.  Both of them nodded.  They may have been able to talk to each other but they couldn't talk to Kari.

"Hey!  I've got an idea!  Theres a special thing on Howie's laptop that can make funny voices.  He won't mind if I borrow it."  exclaimed Kari.

She ran to Howie's bunk and grabbed it.  She turned it on and went right to the program.

"Nick, jump up here for a sec." Kari said.

Nick leaped on to the table next to the laptop.  His blue eyes were shining as if he were smiling.

"I want you to type something in and try and hit return.  I hope this works."

Nick began to hit his paws on the keyboard.  It took a little bit before he hit return.

"Hey Karbear.  Is your hand O.K.?  I'm sorry I hurt you."  The computer rang out.

"It worked!  Yes Nick, my hand is O.k., it still hurts a little."  Kari said in a calming voice.

Nick began to type again.  This time he was a little bit faster.

"Kevin was wondering how you knew it was us."

"You still have your chokers on.  Remember, I gave you those for Christmas."

"Oh.  Do you have any ideas on how to change us back?  Or do you know  if Leighanne is behind this?"

"No I don't know how to change you back and yes I know it was Leighanne.  No other you know how to make diddly squat  so that rules out all of us.  Also, Lei was the only person on the bus yesterday."

"At least we a suspect.  Are you sure I didn't hurt you?  Those scratches looked deep."

"I'm sure Nick, i'm sure."  and she began to cry again.  Just thinking about what happened hurt.  Nick and Kevin tried to comfort her the best they could.

"*sigh*  Now like what I've done.  My mascara is probably running."  laughed Kari.

She went into her purse and brought out a mirror.  As she pulled it out she heard two voices.

"Huh?  What was that?"  she asked Kevin and Nick.

"Down here!"

She flipped her mirror over and let out a scream.  There were Howie and A.J. in the mirror.

"Help us!  We can't get out!"  yelled A.J.

"Who did this to you?"  asked Kari.

"Leighanne!  Before you guys woke up this morning!  Please help us!  It is really weird in here!"  yelled Howie.

"Hold on, I can barely hear you.  Let me get to a bigger mirror."  cried Kari.

The biggest mirror was in the bathroom.  She ran in there to find Howie and A.J. in that mirror to.

"Guys, did you see anything after she put you in there?"  asked Kari.

"No.  We've seen nothing but dark.  I don't understand why we are out now.  Did anything happen?" said Howie

"Ah...ah..."  stammered Kari.

Just then A.J. turned his head as if to hear something.

"We're back here Kev."  he said

"You can hear him?"  questioned Kari.

"Well, yeah.  Why won't we?"  asked Howie.

Just then, Kevin and Nick walked into the room.  Howie's and A.J.'s mouths dropped.

"Oh my god!  She did this to you?"

"It isn't their fault.  Lei must have put something in my candy.  They both ate it this morning and well.. look at them now.  And for you two, there was a note on the table with A.J.'s hand writing."  said Kari.

"Yeah, she forced me to write it."  sighed A.J.

Just then, all of the guys turned there heads.  Kevin and Nick ears both purk up.

"Somebody's coming."  whispered Howie.

"Quick!  Howie, A.J., hide yourselves."  Howie and A.J. disappeared into the mirror.  "It's Lei, isn't it?  Back to check on us?  asked Kari.

Kevin nodded.  Just then, the door burst open.  There stood Leighanne and Brian.  Leighanne's amulet was glowing bright.

Chapter 3

"So, I see my little plan back fired.  Oh well.  I was going to get them next."  cackled Leighanne.

"Why Lei?  Why did you so this?"  screamed Kari.

"Why to get Brian all to myself of course.  He may be under my spell now, but I wanted to get rid of any outside distractions.  Have you found your other two friends?  They really met their reflections."  Laughed Lei.

Kevin put his head down and growled.  Kari put a hand on top of his head to tell him to stop.

"You can't do this."  said Kari through her teeth.

"Oh yes I can.  Witches can do anything.  Brian, if you please."  Lei snapped her to fingers and Brian came to her side.

"Hold her down.  I want to finish the job"

Just as Brian came at Kari, Kevin leaped to attack Lei.  Lei just twirled her fingers and Kevin and Nick went flying into the bathroom.  The door shut behind them.

"Brian, no please don't.  It's me!  Karbear!" she screamed but he didn't listen.  He grabbed her and held her down on the floor.  He was to heavy for Kari to lift off of her.  Lei stood over them with a small bottle in her hand.

"Open wide!" laughed Lei.  Brian pride Kari's mouth open and Lei dumped the potion into her mouth.  She swallowed it without knowing.  Brian let her go.  As she got up, the world was a big blur.  Lei made another twirl of her fingers.  Kari went flying into the back.  When she hit, a blanket fell over her.

"Buh-byyyyeee!"  cackled Lei as she and Brian left the bus.  The green light began swirling around her and she began to scream.  The blanket wrapped around her like a strange cocoon.  Then the world around her went dark.

Chapter 4

"Is she alright?"

"I don't know, she's under a blanket."

"Oh no!  She not...is she?"

"NO!"

Kari could here voices from a far.  She knew where she was.  All she didn't know was why she couldn't stand up and why she felt so small.  She poked her nose out from under the blanket.

"Hey!  I see movement.  Now if we can just get out of here." said Nick.  Kari also didn't know why she could hear them.  They couldn't be changed back if they can't get to a door knob.

She saw the door knob begin to move and turn.  She didn't want to be seen so she ran underneath one of the bunks and began to cry.

The bathroom door opened and Kevin and Nick came out.

"Where did she go?" asked Kevin.  He didn't need an answer.  They both heard a light sobbing coming from under the bunks.

"Kari?  Is that you?  Are you alright?"  said Nick with some concern.

"Please.  I don't want you two to see me like this."  sobbed Kari.  They couldn't see her very well so they didn't know what was wrong.

"Come on baby.  It can't be any worst off then us. Nobody can be worst off then any of us."  said Kevin.

There was silence.  Then Kari spoke up again.

"I guess your right.  I'll come out, but don't make any comments O.K.?"

"K, we won't, come on."

She slowly revealed herself in her new form.  She was red with black on her paws and the tip of her ears and white on her chest and stomach.  Leighanne's potion had turned her into a fox.

"Well, is it that bad?"  she whispered.

"Why would it be bad?  You look as cute as ever."  said Kevin.

Kari smiled.  Then she ran back to the blanket.

"What are you doing?" asked Nick.

"I took a little parting gift from Lei when Brian was holding me down."

She come out and showed that she had taken the green amulet from around Leighannes neck.

"Whoa!  Way to go!"  said Nick excitedly.

"I don't get it.  How will that thing help?" asked Kevin

Kari spit it out.  "Well, everytime she did something, like control Brian or do this to us, this thing glowed.  I think it has some of her powers."

"Oh.  That might help." said Nick

"Guys?  Is she alright?  Hello?"

"It's O.K. A.J., she's fine."  replied Kevin.

"Well get back in here, we need to talk out a plan."  shouted A.J.

Nick and Kevin went into the front where there was a lower mirror they could look into.  Kari refused to come.

"Come on.  That thing might help."  coaxed Nick.

"No way, I don't want them to see me."  Kari turned away.

"To late, I already can see you."   Kari spun around to see Howie in the window.  She guessed that anything with a reflection could show him.

"What's that?  Isn't that Lei's?"  asked Howie.

"It sure is."  replied Kari.

"We have to find a safe place for this." said Kevin.  But instead of carrying it in his mouth, he put it around his neck.  Then there was a flash of light that blinded Nick and Kari.  When it cleared, Kevin was himself again.

"I can stand again!"  he laughed.

"That amulet must change you back when you put it on!"  cried Kari.

"Well, probably not all the way.  I can still understand you."

"This could be used for our advantage."

"Yeah, like what to do if Lei and B-Rok come back.  We need a watch out."

Kari's eyes began to shine.  She had just gotten an idea.  One that would work.

"Hey guys!  You know that special hiding spot in the bus compartment?  We could use that as a way out.  Then, one of us could watch out while relaying info back to the bus by walkie talkie."  said Kari.

"That might just be stupid enough to work!"  said Nick.

"Kevin, I need to borrow the amulet.  You don't mind going back do you?"  asked Kari.

"I don't mind." he said.

He took the amulet off.  The instant it was off, he was back to being a dog.  Then Kari put it on and became human.  She ran to her bunk and pulled out a walkie talkie.  One part was like a regular walkie talkie.  The other was a piece that you put into your ear.  She opened the door to the compartment and they all climbed in.  She shut the trap door and opened the door out.  She put the piece in her ear.

"O.K. guys, here goes nothing." she said.  She took the amulet off and Nick put it on.  She jumped out and Nick closed the door behind her.

"Guys, can you hear me?"  she asked.

"Loud and clear.  Do you see or here anything?"

"No.  But I do hear something. I don't know...."

She didn't look up fast enough.  She had walked into the road with out knowing it and a car was about to hit her.  She laid down and covered her head knowing she couldn't get away as the car rolled over her.

Chapter 5

"Whoa!  Do you think we hit it?"  There was a voice from outside the car.  She was alive.  She was small enough to fit under the car without being hurt.

"What is it?" a female voice said.

"Let me look." said the male voice.

She saw a head come down to look.  It was Brian.  What luck, you go out and look for someone and they nearly kill you.

"Looks like a fox.  And I think it's alive.  Hold on, i'll try and pull it out."

Kari felt his hands go around her stomach and pull her out from underneth the car.

"Put that awful thing down!  It might be diseased!  Besides, we have to go look for my necklace!"  whined Leighanne.

"Alright, i'm coming.  Down you go little guy."

Brian set her down and she was off like a shot.

"Kari, KARI!  We heard you scream.  What's going on?"  asked Nick.

"I'm O.K. guys.  Brian and Lei are coming in.  And I guess it's time for me to do the same."  said Kari.

"O.k., I'll open the door."

Kari made a run for the bus.  she saw the door open and she jumped inside.  Kevin closed it behind her.

"It's show time!"  laughed Kari.

They climbed out of the trap door back into the main area of the bus.  So far the plan was going right.  They heard the door open.

"Know that little brat took it."  said Leighanne angrily.

"But, we weren't even here all morning.  What make you think she has it?"  asked Brian.

"I don't think.  I know she took it.  I swear, when I find i'll ring her neck."

"Hey, don't talk about her in that way.  She is pretty much my sister mind you."

"I don't care...hey, what's that?"

Kari came out from where she was hiding.  Leighanne knew right away it was her.  She never forgets eyes.

"Oh, hi Lei.  Looking for this?"  Kari pulled out the amulet.  As she did, Brian's eyes seemed to glaze over.  He was back in Leighannes command.

"GIVE ME THAT YOU LITTLE PIP-SQUEAK!!"  Lei tried to grab it but Kari was a little faster then her.  She put the amulet on and regained human form.  Nick and Kevin came out from behind her.  A.J. and Howie appeared in the windows.

"Looks like your little plan really did backfire.  Only this time, it's in our favor.  Get her guys.  I'll tend to Brian."

"As the guys pounced on Lei, holding her down, Kari tried to get Brian back from la la land.

"Brian, please wake up!  It's me!  Lil' Joker!  Don't you remember me?  Please please wake up!"  she cried.  Brian's eyes began to regain color.  His eyelids flickered.  He was starting to get up.

"OH, what happened?  What are those animals doing to Lei?"  he asked.

"Those animals are your best friend and you cousin!  Look in the windows, that's where Howie and A.J. have been.  Leighanne did this to all of us.  Remember the fox you almost hit?  That was me Brian."  She was talking so fast that it took a minute for him to get it all.

"Please help us?  All you need to do is smash the amulet and the spells will be broken and Lei will be gone for good!  Please!"

Brian thought about it.  The guys were like family to him and this was the women he loved (I'm sorry I had to say that).  If he did what Kari said, he would lose Lei forever.  If he didn't, his friends were stuck like this.  He had to make a desion.

Chapter 6

"Alright, Give me the amulet, and I will smash it.  Keep holding her down guys!"

Before Kari took the amulet off, she gave Brian a kiss and a hug to keep him from changing his mind.  Then she took it off and gave it to him.  Before he could even blink, she was gone and the fox was there.

"For you my dear."  he said as he took a big rock they got at Mount Rushmore.  He was about to smash it when Lei spoke up.

"Don't Brian!  You love me!  You always will!  I know you don't want to hurt me!  Don't do it Brian."

Brian looked up and flashed an angry look at her.

"LOVE?!  YOU CALL THIS LOVE!  YOU TRIED TO GET RID OF MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY!  YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT LOVE IS!"

He raised up and rock and brought it down with a loud thud.

"NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"  Leighanne screamed as green light came out of her nose, mouth and, eyes.  With ball of light she was gone.

"Kari, A.J., Kevin, Howie, Nick!  Are you guys alright?" asked Brian

Kevin and Nick came up from the back.  They were almost fully back to normal.

"I'm just fine."  Brian turned around to find Kari standing there.

"You did the right thing cuz.  We're proud of you for it."  said Kevin.

"Where's Howie and A.J.?"  asked Brian.

"I don't know.  They should have been released from the mirror."  said Nick

They all went into the bathroom to find the mirror looked like a bowl of wiggly JELLO.  Karl reached into the mass with both arms.  When she felt clothing, she pulled.

"Guys, help!  They're heavy."  she strained.

All of the guys pulled until they heard kind of a sucking nose and Howie and A.J. were free.

"Thanks guys.  Almost didn't make it."  said Howie relived.

"Guys!  Where have you been?  Rehearsal was suppose to start an hour ago!"  Their manager was not to happy.

"Alright, we're coming.  You coming Kari?"  asked Nick.

"Yeah sure."

As they were leaving, Kari noticed a little beetle in the corner.  She knew who it was because it had a voice.

"How could he do this to me?  After all we've been through.  I'm going to get that little girl if it's the last thing I do."

"No Leighanne, you won't."  said Kari.  Lei gave out a little scream as Kari stomped on her.

"Hey guys, Wait up!"  she yelled.  She took one last look at what had been Leighanne and was one the door.
