The door opened before her. “Mattie, what are you doing-” Nick exclaimed.
“Shhhh,” she interrupted, placing a finger to Nick's lips. “Do you want us to get caught?” She stepped in and quickly closed the door.
She looked up to kiss him, but he wouldn't let her.
"You know you can't be here, Mattie," he stated rationally. “I know, but it’s not fair! Why do we have to let Brian control our lives? I love you. I love you so much.” She stood up on her tiptoes and brushed her lips to his, but he pulled away again.
“I love you, too, but we can’t do this.”
“Please, Nick. I need you,” she pleaded, her eyes filling with tears.
Giving in, he kissed her softly and led her over to the bed.
Meanwhile, Brian had woken up and made a decision on what to do about Nick and his sister. He was standing before Nick’s door, hoping it was the right one. He knocked softly on the door before reaching for the knob to find it unlocked.
Madeleine slid the covers over her head, but it was too late. Brian’s jaw dropped. He opened his mouth to speak, but all he could get out was, “You hurt her, I’ll kill you,” before he spun on his heel and walked out, slamming the door behind him.
“Does that mean it’s okay? He doesn’t mind?” Madeleine asked softly.
“I guess so,” Nick stated. “Now where were we?”
“Mmm…I think we were right here,” she replied, kissing him passionately.
