Nick looked back at her, confused. “Yeah, you did. We’re here.” They pulled into the parking lot of a very big, very fancy hotel. Lauren stepped out and linked arms with Nick. They walked in together.
Meanwhile, Brian and Leighanne were chatting. “No, Leigh, he didn’t tell me who he’s bringing.”
“Not even a hint?” she replied.
“He said we don’t know her, but we’ll like her.”
Just then, Nick and his mystery date approached them. Brian’s eyes widened. “Lauren?”
She smiled widely. “Hey, Brian! Hi, Leighanne! Happy anniversary!”
“Thanks! It’s so great to see you!” Leighanne exclaimed, giving her a friendly hug. Brian did the same.
“I thought we didn’t know her,” he said to Nick.
“I wanted to surprise you,” Nick said. “And it obviously worked. I’m going to take her to see the other guys. We’ll see you later.”
