thnx for the feedback :) Part 44: *************************************************************************** Justin smiled as David, Jenn and Lis walked into his office. "Thanks for meeting with us." David said. "No problem, you said it was important and about that lawsuit. Sorry I couldn't fit you in sooner." "Thats okay." Jenn said. "So what's going on?" Justin asked, looking at the three of them. He knew the women were two of the Backstreet wives and David was one of the better known private investigators in Orlando. "What I'm about to say is private information which you cannot repeat." "All right." "Lou Pearlman blackmailed the Backstreet Boys into breaking up." Justin blinked a few times, "What?? Oh come on..." "Its true, we've been able to prove that what he was blackmailing them with is false which they didn't know at the time. But along the way we found something out about Lou and that's where you come in." "How?" "We've come across some rather interesting things from your lawsuit." "That stuff was all sealed...no one's able to talk about it. Court order." Lis and Jenn exchanged looks, it didn't look like Justin was going to be very cooperative. "Didn't need to talk to anyone, but we did manage to read some things. Look Justin if Lou did this to them, he could turn around and do it to you five." "Not likely man." Jenn shook her head as they walked back into the Orlando sunshine. "Well now I can't stand him." David laughed, "He's protecting his own ass. Look there's still four other members of that group, one of them will talk to us. And if not we'll make one of them talk. Its not gonna be hard ladies. Just keep the faith. They have as much reason to hate Lou as you do." "Maybe, but Lou hasn't ruined their lives yet." Lis said, getting into the car. "Not yet, but the ball could be in motion." David said unlocking the driver's door. "Maybe we should tell to the next one." Jenn said getting in the back. "We may have to." "Howie this is an unexpected surprise!" Paul said into his cell phone. "Yeah well I figured since you were in town, I'd take you to dinner and we can go over some of those papers?" "Course. Which ones did you want to go over?" "The ones you gave me a few weeks. Something about the numbers in some of them just doesn't seem right." "I can assure you D, there's been at least twenty accountants going over those with a fine tooth comb." "I'm sure their have but I just want to discuss a few things. I'll meet you at the hotel restaurant at eight." Paul paused, he knew it was useless to try to get out of the meeting, but something was telling him that there was something up. "All right. I'll see you then." "What's wrong?" Kevin asked as the two women walked into the beach house. Jenn glared at Kevin, "He was so freaking uncooperative its not funny." She fell back on the couch. "I think I need a drink." Lis looked at Kev, "Yeah Justin didn't say anything useful. In fact he had a hard time believing the whole Lou blackmailing anyone deal. Maybe he has selective memory." She stated looking around. Kevin read her mind, "Nick went out...with E." "Say when they'd be back?" "No, they took off about an hour ago though." Howie walked into their bedroom, finding Ty sitting in bed channel surfing as she scribbled away in a legal pad. "You busy?" he asked, climbing on the bed next to her. "Not for you. What's up?" she asked, seeing the odd expression on her husband's face. He sighed as he leaned back against the pillows. "Called Paul...I'm meeting him later at the hotel." "Why????" "Because I think its time..." "To what, tell him what we're up to??" "Ty..." "No D listen to me, if you do something stupid he could tip Lou off. Do you really think I want to go through this pregnancy alone and visit you in prison or wherever they send you on the weekends? No D, I don't!!" "I can't just live in limbo Ty! I'm sick of it." Shan was in the kitchen, making herself a sandwich when Brian walked in. He stood beside her, "Cassie just called." "Great." "Shan you said she should come." "I know I did. Maybe now I regret that a little okay??" "Why?" "Its a woman thing okay?" she glanced at him. "Which means you wouldn't understand." He laughed, "I might surprise you." "No Rok, nothing about you surprises me anymore." "Oh really?" "Yep, finding out that I'm NOT your first wife tends to do that to a person." Nick and E sat in the boat, out in the middle of the water. She laughed as the wind blew Nick's hat off and he had to chase it across the boat, grabbing it just before it landed in the water. "That was so not funny." "Beg to differ." she smiled. "So why are we out here?" He sat down, "I needed to get away and you looked like you needed a break too so here we are. Calm, relaxing. Nothing wrong with that." "True." she looked him over. "And there's something else, what is it?" AJ sat on the deck, his face tilted up to the sun as he tried to doze. The last few days he'd actually been able to sleep through the night, a miracle to him as he hadn't slept much before that. He heard someone walk outside and he knew who it was so he didn't need to open his eyes to acknowledge her presence. Jenn looked at her husband and walked behind him, taking a seat on the other side of him. "Justin didn't say anything. So we need to figure out who might be talkative." "I still don't think their going to help us Jenn." he answered, his eyes still closed behind his sunglasses. "Have to try. J, when all of this works out, what are you going to do?" "If all of this works out," he sat up in the lounger and took off his sunglasses, "I don't know. None of us have really talked about that, we're more concerned about the present to think about what might happen later." "I see your point. But what do you want?" He laughed, "One hell of a long vacation without my brothers."
