Kevin had just finished telling AJ about Ami calling and the way Brian had exploded when he had found out. --I...I'm not sure Kev. I mean, on the one hand, you did tell her you'd call. And she did say she only wanted to know about the pictures. But...then there's Brian. I guess, technically you wouldn't be doing anything wrong in calling her. Still...I dunno man. Maybe you should just leave it alone. --So I shouldn't call her? --I wouldn't. That's all I really know to tell ya. Everytime the phone rang Ami would practically jump to answer it. But it had been three days and now she was beginning to suspect that no matter how many times the phone rang...it would not be Kevin. Obviously none of the guys wanted anything more to do with her or her daughter and she had no one to blame for that but herself. --Momma... --What Angel? --More! --Okay baby, one second. Ami got up and gave Hailey more juice and then sat back down by the phone. If only I had been stronger none of this would have happened. If I had not let my feelings take over...so many things could be different. Brian would never have had to hurt the way that he did and neither would Hailey. -Why did I have to screw everything up for you baby girl? It's bad enough I ruined my own life...now I feel like I've ruined yours too. With a sigh Ami got back up and started to clean up the kitchen from lunch. --Maybe somehow momma can find a way to fix this... --Maybe you should talk to Brian about it. --I don't think Brian wants to talk about it. --Yeah, but maybe Brian needs to talk about it. If he blew up the way you say he did, then obviously there are some things he needs to get off his chest. Lots of stuff just building up like that can not be good for him, or for the group. --Do you care if I bail out on dinner tonight then? Kara smiled up at Kevin. --No, of course not. I'll call Abby and maybe we can do something. You go ahead. --Your sure? Kara stood up and kissed him on the lips. --Go. Twenty minutes later Kevin pulled into Brian's driveway. Noticing Brian's car in the drive he got out and made his way to the door. When he knocked and there was no answer he went ahead and let himself in with the key Brian had given him in case of emergency. --Brian...Brian, man are you here? Walking into the den he saw that Brian was on the couch asleep. The pictures of Hailey were laying on the table in front of him. Kevin smiled as he looked at them. She was so much bigger, but she was still the same happy, beautiful baby girl he remembered. --Ami said I could see her if I wanted. Kevin jumped at the sound of Brian's voice. --I thought you were asleep. --I was but I heard you come in. Kevin nodded. --So do you want to see her? Hailey I mean? --Would it be horrible if I wanted to see her mother too? --No. Kevin sat down on the couch beside his cousin. --Are you sure you wanna do that? Maybe you should just move on. Try to... --I don't think I can Kevin. I've tried so hard. I want to hate her. God, more than anything I want to hate her for what she did. For leaving me the way she did. I just can't make myself do it. I... Brian picked up the picture of Hailey sleeping and smiled through the tears that were threatening to fall. --I still love her. Kevin nodded. --What would you do? If Kara left but you knew it was for the wrong reasons....if you knew she really still loved you. And every morning you woke up fresh from dreams of her...and every night the only thing you could think to pray for was her. What would you do? Because that's the way that I feel. It's been over seven months and the hole that they left is still as fresh as the very second I watched her get on that plane. I just don't know what to do Kevin...I don't... Kevin pulled Ami's number out of his wallet and laid it on the table and got up to leave. --Maybe you'll figure it out later. --Meg? I'm home. --Sssh. Hailey's still asleep. --Oh sorry. How was she today? --She was her perfect self she is everyday Ami. --Good. Did anyone call? --Um, yeah...hang on I wrote it down... Meg went into the kitchen to get the message while Ami went into Hailey's room to check on her. --She still asleep? --Yes, thank you for watching her again. --No problem. And...a guy named Brian called. He wouldn't leave a number though. He said he'd try to call back some other time. --Brian? --Yeah...Ami are you okay? You just lost every bit of the color in your face. Ami sat down very slowly on the couch. --Um, yeah...I...I'm fine. Thanks again for today. --No problem. I guess I'll see you tomorrow...are you sure your alright? --Yes, I'm fine. I'll see you in the morning.
