What is it? Nick asked loudly.
"Where are my parents? Where are they"
The officer searched for the right words to say. "I'm sorry I had to be the one to tell you this, but your mother is dead."
Nick didn't say a word, he stood in shock.
"Your father is identifying her body"
Nick's mind was trying to digest this information. It wasn't possible.
"Dead? How?"
The Officer responded,"She jumped from her bedroom window"
Nick looked up at him. He thought: Jumped? Like Joyce. This isn't true, he shouted to the man in the uniform
"You're lying! My mother would never do something like that! Never!!!"
With that last word out of his mouth, Nick collapsed to the floor.
***********************************************
Nick woke in his own room. Everything looked as it always was.
Had it all been a dream? It was possible, after all, lately his dreams had become very vivid, almost life-like.
He got out of bed to go to his parent's room.....It was empty. He heard a noise from downstairs, like glass breaking. It turned out to be Charles who had dropped an empty beer bottle.
When Nick looked at Charles' face he knew the death of his mother had not been a dream. Mary was really dead and a feeling shawdowed over his heart. He would never see his mom again.
Leaving behind his almost-drunk dad, Nick went back up to his room, where he once again saw Angela's ghost. She sat on the bed, brushing her hair absentmindedly. Her eyes saddened, stared at nowhere. It was like she was lost in her mind, thinking about something that broke her heart.
After the initial shock of seeing her again, anger took over. It was because of her, becuase of the house, that Mary was dead. They were reliving the past with real people. Who would be next?
"Go away!" He screamed at her, but of course she didn't hear him.
"It's your fault! Leave us alone!"
He grabbed some books from the computer desk and threw them at Angela and she dissapeared. He fell to the floor in fetal position and repeated the words "Go away" until his eyes were too heavy to keep open.

The oxygen wasn't getting into his lungs, that's why he woke up. Even with his eyes open all he could see was drkness. Something was being held over his face. He struggled to set himself free, once he managed to do so, he saw it was Charles holding a pillow over his face.
"Dad...what are you doing?"
It was as though Charles had no idea what was going on, like he had just been snapped out of a trance. The pillow dropped to the floor and Charles started shaking.
"I....I..don't know." He studderd.
"It seemed so logical in my head..to be together again."
Nick could smell the alcohol on him. "It's okay dad."
After calming Charles down he walked him to his room.
