Quickly remembering the reason why I was there, I got up and started to look for Nick, tears ran down my face, I had no idea whether he was still alive or not. Finally I walked into a room and there I saw Nick, laying in a bed with hundreds of wires and machines connected to him, making that annoying "beep, beep" sound. The tears started gushing by then, and I sat down by his bed and held his hand. To my surprise, Nick slowly stirred and his eyes began to open.

"Jen?" he weakly said.

"Yes Nick, it’s me" I replied.

He stifled a smile and slowly said, "I’m glad you’re here."

I began to cry again and I finally told Nick my secret that I had kept from him for so long. "Nick...I love you" I said.

He smiled again and held my hand tighter, "I love you too," he said, "I’ll miss you." "I’ll miss you too" I said as I held his hand tighter and softly kissed it. He smiled and closed his eyes for the last time and the next thing I heard was the long monotonous beep of the machine and the rushing footsteps of the nurses and doctors as they ran into the room to take my best friend, Nick, away.
