Chapter 4

Nick’s eyes widened and he staggered onto the floor, the blood slowly seeped through his white shirt. I quickly ran to him and leaned over him with tears running down my cheeks. "Nick! Nick!" I cried as I nudged him.

His eyes slowly rolled to the back of his head and they slowly began to close. I was in a daze, I couldn’t believe this was actually happening. My chest started to tighten and I couldn’t breathe. Suddenly the ambulance sirens could be heard from outside, and the paramedic came rushing into the house.

I slowly stood up and saw Mandy crouched up in the corner, crying with the gun still beside her. Without even thinking about what I was doing I ran over to her and started kicking and screaming at her. At the same time I was crying and yelling, "You killed him! You killed Nick! You killed my best friend!" The rest of that evening was a blur to me; the next thing I knew I was in the hospital.
