Chapter Two

"Hi, I'm Natalie. Are you a friend of Kevin’s?", surprised at the intrusion.

“Yeah I am. So did it hurt?"

"What? Did what hurt? What are you talking about?" totally confused

“Did your fall from heaven hurt? Cause damn girl, you look like an angel"

“ No, trust me, I’m not”

"Are you kidding? You're gorgeous. We should go out sometime"

“Ummm.. thanks..but I don’t think so”

I stare at her in shock. What was her problem. I'm not gonna let her see my injured pride, so I shrug.

“Ok..but it's your loss|" and walk away

Turning back to Kevin, "Is he always this arrogant?"

"Yes and no. He's not normally this bad but I fear someone's leading him astray"

“Well, I better go and find my friend Charlie, she probably thinks I left without her”

As I turn around, Charlie is coming around the corner.

“There you are. Where have you been?”

"Just getting some air... and talking to Kevin. Kevin, this is my best friend Charlie. Charlie, this is Kevin"

"It's nice to meet you", shaking his hand

"You too...You've gotta great friend here..." putting his arm around my shoulders

“She's the best"

" Hey.. I'll let you guys get back to the party but..", turning to me

"Here's my number, call me, if you need to talk... Take care ladies..." and walks back into the party

"Hey, come on, let's go party on the dance floor" taking my hand

As we go towards the dance floor, I withdraw my arm.

" I''ll join you in a minute" and heading for the bar.

"Could I have a margarita on the rocks, please?” I told the bartender

Hell, I need more than one of those suckers to get through the rest of this night. So much for celebrating.

“Here ya go miss..” handing me my drink

After about my third drink, I turn and who else do I see, but Jason and his hoochie. He looks up and gives me the most mischievous smirk and then leans down and kisses her.

“Dirtbag…” take one more sip of my drink and head for my only safe haven right now… the bathroom

As I walk in, there are several girls standing around. Charlie sees me as she heads towards the door.

“Hey girl… what’s the matter?…” seeing that I’m unhappy.

"Nothing.. I just wanna go hooome... Are you readyyyy? or do you want to stayyy?"

"No, no, I'm ready, the night's turned out to be pretty lame"

As we squeeze through the crowds…charlie grabs my hand to keep me losing me. As soon as we get outside, the fresh air fills my lungs.. what a relief.

We.. we gotta get a.. a. cab.. I.. I.. can’t d..ddrivve..” and we both start giggling

"I'm a little tipsy but you, you are drunk"

"I..I.am.n.not..."

As we wait for a cab, a curly haired guy comes out and joins us, dragging his drunk friend with him.

"But..I...I gottsha go back insiidee...the h...hot girl ish waiting for meee"

"You, aren't going anywhere but home buddy... Come, on"

Looking up, he sees one of the girls he danced with and some other girl giggling. As he was being dragged along, Nick spotted a couple girls across the way.

"Here here...ish total h..hot girl oh....h..hot girl has h...hot friend"

"Don't you even think about it"

Seeing the guy that she couldn’t keep her eyes off of, coming towards her, her heartbeat started to jump. As he approached, she tried to calm her nerves.

“Hey… looks like we both got DD tonight.."

“Aren't we the lucky ones?" trying to smile

"Yeah sure... at least it keeps party animals off the streets... I.. uh I was going drive him home, do you ladies want a ride? It might be a while if u plan on taking a cab"

"That's really sweet and kind of you. Are you sure you don't mind? I don't want to be any hassle for you"

"It's no problem. We can just stick these guys in the back"

"Thank you" blushing slightly at the thought of being next to him
