Even though I'd only been here a short while, this day was going to be unforgettable. Natalie and I spent hours reminiscing on the past, laughing and joking and even crying. Tears of joy and tears of sadness still made this day memorable. In my true nature, I suggested that we hit a club to kick start the celebrations.
And just like the old times, we spent hours picking out each other's clothes, doing make up and styling our hair. I must admit the end was result fantastic. Natalie looked sensational in an off the shoulder black top with matching pants and black low heeled sandals and I donned a red sleeveless shirt with a jean skirt and sandals. Party time had arrived…
I'm smiling as we enter the club. my troubles are long forgotten tonight as I catch a glimpse of a cute guy. Our eyes locked for a moment and as I'm taking in his short curls, he flashes me a smile that makes my knees go weak. I nudge Natalie and mouth "oh wow". She laughs and shoots me her "here you go again" look before taking hold of my arm and directing me over to a group of people where I recognize one of the guys as her boyfriend.

"Hi, Jas, sweetie" giving him a kiss.

Looking a little shocked at me being there, he cautiously puts his arm around me.

"Hey, this is my best friend Charlie, the one that I was telling you about. Charlie, this is my boyfriend Jason."

"Hi Jason, nice to meet you" though I can tell the feeling is not returned

"Like wise"... turning to Natalie

"Honey, we're having a guys nite, so.. I was wondering if maybe you and Charlie could....umm.. have your own party?"

"Oh, sorry, sweetheart... Well.. I'll see you then ok?" turning to leave & kissing him.

"Call me" and we leave to go find another table

After finding our own table and getting some drinks, we get on the dance floor for a while, having the time of our lives.

Bringing Jason a beer as a surprise, I walk over and as he is about to take it from me, some woman wraps her arms around his waist and says "J, sweetie there you are. I've been looking all over for you. Lets say we go to our own private party cause I've missed you”

"Umm.. Excuse me?.. What did you say?"

“Who are you?" returning the same look

“ I asked you first”

"Well, if you must know, I'm Lisa and this is my man J"

“The hell he is. I’M his GIRLFRIEND”

"Look Natalie, honey, it's been fun but did you really expect it to last? You're a nice girl, but you're not really my type"

"That's it? After all this time, that's all you have to say?"

"Yeah it is. Maybe, next time you'll stop being so needy"

Throwing his beer in his face, “Go to hell, and take that whore with you!”

Storming off, I accidentally walk smack into a tall, dark-haired, handsome guy. He reaches out to stop me from losing my balance,

"Are you ok miss? I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I heard the last part of your conversation and you seem a little shaken up."

“No, really, ya think?”

“Ok I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you, I just wanted to make sure you were alright"

Replacing a piece of hair out of my face, " No, you know what.. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have snapped at you. It's just right now, is not a good time.."

"Apology accepted. Come and sit down for a while, you'll feel better afterwards"

"Actually, right now I just gotta get outta here for a while... if you know what I mean.."

"You shouldn't be on your own. I'll get some fresh air myself, if you don't mind the company"

“Alright, let’s go”

I don't even wanna know what was in that drink my friend AJ ordered for us. All that mattered is that I could still feel the shot burning my throat. It's turning out to be a pretty, boring night. Originally, it shoulda been myself and AJ having a wild night out but somehow it turned into a group event. Not that I'm complaining about being out with the other guys, it's just we've all gone our own separate ways and I'm stuck watching AJ failing to score with a barmaid. That guy never learns. I last saw Howie outside on his cell talking to his girlfriend, probably telling her how much he misses her but what's surprised me is that I've seen Brian, my closest buddy, dance with a girl he's never met before and he's supposed to be in a relationship. Nothing will happen though, I know him too well. As I scan the dance floor, I notice my other friend, Kevin, talking to some girl...Whoa, back up there, not just some girl, a totally hot girl. I nudge AJ and whisper "totally hot girl”. That gets his attention and he smirks at me

"Spank bank hot?"

I roll my eyes.

"That's crude...no, she's over there talking to Kevin". as I watch him check her out.

"She's cute, you should go and talk to her"

I laugh at this.

"I think I might" and turn to leave

"Just remember what I taught ya" aj calls out. Waving back at him,

"I got this one covered"

I walk over to Kevin, not once taking my eyes off the hot girl. She's even more gorgeous close up.

"Hey Kev”, flashing her a smile & holding out my hand

"Hi, I'm Nick"
