Chapter 8

Tiffany blinked her eyes open to find the screen flashing the credits. She looked up to find she had fallen asleep on Kevin's shoulder while they watched the second movie that night. She sat up and rubbed her eyes. When she looked back at Kevin, she found him sitting there grinning.

"Sleep well?"

"Mmmhmm..." she half mumbled before leaning back onto his shoulder.

"Come on..." he said as he nudged her to sit again. "Let's get you to bed..."

l"Mmmmmhmmm..." she mumbled again, already falling back asleep. He smiled as he gently picked her up. He pulled her close to his body, her head lolling in toward his chest before her cheek rested against him. He walked out into the hall and found Brian walking toward his room shaking his head.

"Brian..." Kevin whispered. "Can you get her room key out of her pocket?" >

"Um...sure..." Brian slid his fingers into her jean pockets and slipped out the key. "Want me to unlock the door too?"

"It would be nice..."

"Ok." Brian then unlocked Tiff's door and walked in, turning on the light and laying the key on the bed side table. "You missed the fun over in Mel's room today," Brian whispered as Kevin laid Tiff on the bed.

"What do you mean?" Kevin replied without taking his eyes off Tiff.

"Big fight. They're over in here room making up...or making out. You can't tell with those two...Anyway, I'm off to bed. See ya, Cuz..."

"Bye..."

Kevin sat there and watched her sleep for a while, amazed at how peaceful she looked. A lock of her dark hair had fallen onto her face, contrasting with her pale skin. He gently brushed it back behind her ear, his fingers lingering to lightly trace the curve of her jaw.

She shifted slightly in her sleep and he realized how uncomfortable she must have been sleeping in jeans. He nervously lifted the tails of her button down shirt and eased open the button of her jeans. Slowly and as quietly as possible, he slid the zipper open. He slid one hand under her back and slowly moved the jeans down her hips and thighs before pulling them all the way off. Her legs were covered in soft, pale skin. The muscles were well, defined and sculpted, looking as if they were carved out of marble. A small silver chain encircled her left ankle, the delicate links shining in the soft light of the room.

He smiled before slowly getting up. He pulled the covers over her and then shut off the light. Before leaving, he pressed a gentle kiss to her temple.

Tiffany awoke to the warmth of sunlight on her face. She looked at the clock...noon. Oh my God! I was gonna meet Mel for lunch today! She leapt out of bed and suddenly remembered that last night she had been in Kevin's room and fully dressed but was now in a shirt and underwear in her room. What happened?! She quickly tugged on a pair of jeans and found a clean shirt before running over to Melissa's room.

She knocked on the door, but got no answer. She tried the knob and found it unlocked. She walked into the room as she called, "Mel..." Suddenly she froze. Snuggled under the blankets together were Nick and Mel. Tiff could see Nick wore no shirt, and Melissa was wearing his hockey jersey. They didn't... she thought as she caught a surprised gasp in her throat.

She went over to the bed and gently shook Melissa's shoulder. "Mel, wake up..." she whispered.

"Hmm?" her sister asked, turning her head slightly to squint up at Tiff.

"What happened last night?"

"Can I explain later?" Melissa asked stifling a yawn.

"No. You can explain now."

"Oh...alright," Melissa said with a sigh as she climbed out of bed. "Come on..." She grabbed Tiff's elbow and led her out into the hall so Nick could sleep. After closing the door, she turned to her sister. "It's not what you think."

"And what do I think it is?"

"I didn't have sex with him last night."

"Ok...so you know how I think. But what happened? There had to be a reason he stayed in your room..."

"He found out..."

"Found out...you mean...."

"The whole thing. I never wanted it to happen like this. But everything is cool now. It's just that we stayed up all night talking about it and it was really really late. So he just slept in boxers and I kinda took his hockey jersey cuz it's comfy and smells like him..." she ended in a childish giggle.

"So, nothing happened?"

"Not like you were thinking...So, how'd your night go?"

"Ok..." Tiff blushed at the question. "So..." she changed the subject. "I guess lunch is off for today, huh?"

"Yeah...I wanna go back to bed."

"I understand...so cuddle with the boy and I'll talk to you in a few hours..."

"Ok...Bye!" >p>Tiff shook her head as she then walked down the hall to the elevator, ready for a nice, quiet lunch by herself. She pressed the down button and waited patiently as the numbers ticked from the lobby to the third floor. The doors opened, and Tiff got ready to step in when she looked right into a pair of starting blue-green eyes.

"Hey, Tiff..." Kevin softly said, a smile replacing the slight frown he had been wearing.

"Kevin...hi."

"Where are you off to?"

"I was going to grab some lunch..."

"Would you like some company?"

"Um...sure."
