Chapter 10

Tiff helped Melissa pack the last of her things from the hotel room, glancing around to double check. I don't know how I'm going to do with out her. She's always been there to be my sunshine... Tiff thought as she watched Melissa try to carry her suitcase out into the hall. Kevin came up and took it from her, lifting it as if it weighed nothing. Tiff chuckled slightly before her, Melissa and Nick got the rest of their stuff. They loaded up the Dakota and then finalized the plans for that afternoon. Melissa and Tiff would lead a limo with Kevin and Nick in to their house. Once Melissa got her stuff, they would load the limo and say goodbye. The limo would then take Melissa, Nick and Kevin to the airport to meet the other three Boys.

Tiff sighed as she climbed into the passenger seat of Melissa's truck, knowing this would be the last time for a ling time that she would be with her sister. Even though they spent most of their time arguing, Melissa and Tiffany had always been close: sisters and best friends.

The drive home seemed half of the usual time only because Tiff didn't want it to end. They got to their spacious house and unloaded the truck. Kevin and Nick were ushered onto the back deck by their mother for conversation and lemonade while Melissa and Tiff ran upstairs to pack Melissa's stuff. In less than half an hour they had all the essentials and were dragging bags downstairs.

"Mel...I'm going to miss you..." Tiff said as they stopped at the bottom of the steps.

"I know. I'm going to miss you too..."

The two girls embraced, tears filling both their eyes. They pulled apart and looked at each other, giggling slightly that they were both crying. "Let's go find, Mom..." Tiff said.

They walked back through the house to the deck to find Nick half-asleep and Kevin looking into his lemonade as if it were fascinating as their mother talked about an interesting show she watched on the Discovery Channel the other day. Both Boys sat up when they saw the girls.

"You ready to go sweetie?" their mother asked Melissa, tears in her soft blue eyes.

"Yeah. Where's Daddy?"

"He went into work this morning..." was the quiet reply.

"Oh...well, let's go out front. The limo is waiting..."

On the front porch, Melissa hugged her mother as she whispered, "I love you, Mom. I'll call when we land..."

"I love you too, sweetie."

While Melissa and her mother said good bye, Kevin softly whispered into Tiff's ear. "Good bye, Tiffany. Don't ever forget how beautiful you are..." His lips gently brushed across her cheek before pressing against hers. Chills ran down her spine long after he pulled away, looking deep into her eyes. "I'll talk to you later..."

"Bye..." she whispered before he walked back to the car.

Then she turned to her sister, already feeling the tears filling her eyes. They hugged each other as if they would never let go. "I promised Mom I'd call when we land. I'll talk to you then, ok?" Melissa asked as the tears began to stream down her cheeks.

"Yeah..."

"I'll miss you..."

"I will too. Write me, ok?! And don't have too much fun. You have to save some for when you're with me!"

"I know...I will..."

The two parted, tears running down their faces before Melissa turned and climbed into the limo, Nick and Kevin already ready to leave.
