"There's a spot!" Tiff screeched as she pointed to an empty parking place. Melissa quickly steered her Dodge Dakota pick-up truck to cut off a little Honda Civic as she slid in the spot.
"This place is crazy!" Melissa exclaimed as she opened her door. "I've never seen so many tube tops, mini skirts and Capri pants!" Tiffany giggled as the two closed their doors and walked to the back of the truck to survey the scene. Each carried the typical wallet and lanyard of a college student, Melissa's in the bright Chicago maroon and burnt orange of Virginia Tech and Tiffany's in the blue and gold of Lycoming. As they looked at the growing crowd of what they called "teenyboppers", they suddenly found themselves out of place…in a good way. The youngsters were all wearing supposedly "sexy" clothes, but they looked more ridiculous than anything else. Tiffany had donned a powder blue men's dress shirt with thin navy pinstripes, a pair of well-worn boot cut blue jeans, and her favorite Sketchers. Melissa wore a black three-quarter sleeve button down shirt--it's tailored sides clinging to her curves-with unhemmed boot cut jeans and a pair of shiny black platform oxfords.
"Shall we go impress some folks?" Tiff asked with a devious grin. "Our secret weapon shouldn't be left waiting!"
"Of course, darling…" Melissa replied with the slurred accent of an old actress as she slid on her sunglasses and sucked in her cheeks to create over-dramatic cheekbones.
"I still can't believe we're doing this…" Tiff muttered as they walked across the parking lot.
"You said you wanted to meet them. I figured out how, that's all."
"But…you're insane! How could you…" Tiff's argument was quieted as they approached the entrance to the fancy hotel. They walked up the lush carpeted front steps and were stopped by security.
"Excuse me, but where do you think you're going?"
"The front desk silly!" Melissa replied with a sugar sweet smile. "I need a room key before I can get into my room."
"What about your luggage?"
"Oh, you're such a dear. It's in the back of the green Dakota over there. Here's the key to the toneau cover…" she said as she dropped the small key into his palm and walked into the building with Tiff right behind her stifling laughs.
The security guard looked after her, not knowing what to say, before going to the truck and getting their "luggage". Melissa had planned on such an inconvenience so her and Tiff just shoved some bags full of clothes. Better safe than sorry!
As the guard struggled with their baggage, Melissa and Tiffany went up to the front desk. The man positioned there was in his early twenties with jet black hair and soft, pale blue eyes. When he saw Melissa his eyes widened and a grin spread across his face.
"I would like to check in…" she said politely. "Two rooms for Melissa Lobach. I believe I requested…" she trailed off as he glanced at the computer screen.
"Third floor. You're rooms are waiting," he cut in with a smile. "And," his voiced softened and lowered, "are we still on for Friday night?"
"It's the least I can do, Steve," she whispered back before planting a small kiss on his cheek. He then handed her the room keys just as the security guard walked in carrying all of the girl's bags at one shot. They really only would have needed a duffle bag or back pack each, but for dramatic emphasis, they had each pack a suitcase and then added a carry-all, a back pack, two duffle bags and a makeup box.
"Oh, thank you so much! We're on the third floor, 320 and 321. I believe the elevator is this way…" Melissa said with feigned sweet innocence.
"I'm not a bellboy!" the security guard roared as he threw their things to the ground. Here's your truck key…figure out how to get this stuff up to the third floor yourself! You two are idiotic, spoiled rich kids! You should have to do something for yourselves!"
As he threw his tantrum, the elevator dinged and the doors slowly opened.
"Yo, Rex…calm down…" came a soft, deep voice from the elevator. Melissa and Tiff looked over and froze. A tall man dressed in baggy jeans and a sweater was walking their way, his black hair in disarray and his blue-green eyes softened by the smile on his lips.
"Oh my God!" Melissa said, acting totally stunned. "You one of the Backstreet Boys...Kevin, I think. Wow, I had no idea you were staying in this hotel!"
"Yeah…we are. I thought the whole world knew that one…" he replied with slight resentment in his voice.
"This is so cool. Where are you guys?"
"Third floor. 315 to 319…"
"Talk about coincidences. We're in 320 and 321!"
"Wow…Then I guess I'll see you around…"
"Not if we plan on getting all this luggage up stairs by ourselves!" Tiff said with a slight giggle.
"Who expects you to get this upstairs by yourselves?" Both girls pointed to the body guard he had called "Rex". "Oh…I see how it is. Well, then can you take the backpack, the carry-all and that box…I can get the rest."
Both girl's eyes widened as they picked up the remaining items and watched him gather all their bags.
"Yo, Train!!!!" came a call through the hotel lobby as running footsteps thudded onto the tile floor. "Where are you buddy?!" Suddenly into view ran a tall blond and his companion, a shorter brown haired man.
"I'm helping these ladies with their luggage…I'll be back down in a minute."
"You really don't have to…" Melissa said, flashing him a dazzling white smile.
"It's my pleasure…"
The blond stood and looked at the two girls as Kevin led the way to the elevator. His gaze fell on Melissa as she turned her head to talk to Tiff.
"Nick…Earth to Nick!" his friend said with a laugh.
"Huh?"
"Uh oh…Nick's got a thing for the short one!"
"Shut up, Frick…" Nick said as he defensively pushed his friend's shoulder.
" Kissy Kissy!" was the high pitched reply.
"Oh, grow up Brian…" Nick muttered.
"I will when you do!"
Nick laughed before replying, "It's a deal…"

"Well, I'll see you later, ladies..." Kevin said as he took the last bag from his shoulder and placed it on the bed.
"Thank you so much. We'll see you around!" Melissa called down the hall before closing the door. She then broke into a run and jumped up on the bed, all the while squealing loudly. She started to jump up and down excitedly. "Tiff! I can't believe it! The plan worked out better than even I had planned!"
"I still can't believe you're doing this! But I do enjoy having Kevin right down the hall!" Tiff said before breaking into uncontrollable giggles.
"One date with Steve is a good enough sacrifice to hanging out with the Backstreet Boys for a week!! I mean, the boy has been chasing after me since grade school. I go to dinner and a movie...and we get a little piece of Heaven. Thank goodness Daddy let us have the money to do this!"
"Correction...he let you have the money and said I could just tag along. Does he know how you got the room though?"
"No...I just told him we got reservations and all. And Daddy gave the money to both of us."
"Yeah..." Tiff muttered in reply as she walked over to the window and looked out the front of the hotel at the crowd of screaming young girls. She then saw movement coming out of the hotel and to the waiting limo as the Boys ran to their car. The last in was Kevin. Tiff watched until the car drove away feelings of sadness rushing over her. Melissa would have no trouble...she is so friendly and outgoing. Hell, look at what happened in the lobby...
"Dude...are you ok?" Melissa asked as she started to dig through one of her bags.
"Sure..." Tiff replied with a sigh as she left the window and turned to her sister. "Can I have the key to my room? And will you help me with my bags?"
"Yeah...hang on..." Melissa's muffled voice came from the other side of the bed where she had positioned herself. Tiff walked over to find her sister halfway inside of her bag, digging for something.
"Mel...what are you doing?"
"Looking for this..." Melissa said as she popped her head out and waved a green slip dress at her sister. I wanna go clubbing tonight. I needed to make sure I shoved it in here. Now I gotta find shoes."
"What about my stuff?"
"Oh...yeah. Um...we can do that quick."
The girls drug Tiff's baggage to the next room before Melissa returned to her hunt for shoes.

Tiff closed and locked the door to her room before she fell onto the bed. She stared at the ceiling, a smooth layer of off white paint covering the drywall. She let out a deep side, her lungs pushing out the air, struggling as if they were made of steel. Tears came to her large blue eyes, the thick black lashes getting damp as she used all her strength to refrain from crying.
It's always her. She gets everything. She's the pretty one. She's the smart one. She's the fun one. She's the one all the guys like. Why does she get everything?! Look at me: the older sister. I'm not as pretty as her. Dad loves her...he doesn't give a damn about me... she sighed again, this time not even able to stop the tears. The salty streams ran down the sides of her face, moistening her hair and the pillow she was laying on.
Suddenly, a knocking came at the door. "Tiff!" she could hear Melissa call. "You in there? Dude?"
Tiff quickly got up and wiped the tears from her face, taking a deep breath before going to the door. "Hey, whatcha need, sis?"
"I need your help. Come over to my room...please?!"
"Give me a minute, I wanna do a few things quick before I forget. You know how I am..."
"Yeah..." Melissa replied with her usual smile.
"I'll be over in a bit..." Tiff said before closing the door. She ran into the bathroom and rinsed her face with cold water and then blotted it with a soft terry cloth towel. She looked at herself in the mirror and sighed again. At least Melissa is enjoying herself...
Tiff walked over to Melissa's room, the door hanging open as her sister was already blaring MTV loud enough for the whole floor to hear. "Mel?" she asked tentatively, unsure as to where her sister was doing what.
"Get your ass in here, Tiff!!" Mel called from what appeared to be inside the closet. Tiff ventured further into the room which was now littered with all of Melissa's clothing. Melissa was looking at herself in the full length mirror, the curves of her petite frame now covered in the smooth silk of her favorite green slip dress.
"What to you need help with?"
"Ok. I need something to wear out tonight, and I like this, but I wear it so much and I don't know what else I could wear!"
"What about this?" Tiff asked, picking a black dress up off the floor.
"I thought about that...but..." Melissa replied as she plucked the dress out of Tiff's hand and quickly shimmied out of the one she had been wearing, not realizing she stood in front of the open door in only a bra and panties for the whole hall to see. She pulled the black dress over her head and pulled it down before returning to the mirror. "But it makes my legs look short." She turned slightly to look at it again, the tight fabric stretching slightly to fit like a second skin.
"Mel...you're legs are short. That's the only thing I got over you...height!"
"What are you talking about? You aren't using that whole thing that I'm better than you again are you? It's not healthy, girl!"
"But it's true."
"Is not! Now let's drop it at that and find me something to wear!"
Tiff couldn't help but laugh slightly as Melissa rummaged through the pile of unfolded clothing. She then grabbed a pair of boot cut jeans and threw them on the bed before she dropped the black dress to the floor too, now in her undergarments another time. Tiff glanced up, envious of her sister yet again. Melissa may be short, but she was proportioned to seem taller. Well-defined legs curved up to soft hips before dipping into a small waist. Her torso was lean and muscled before curving out to firm breasts and strong shoulders. And here I am...too big of a chest, no curves but nice legs. And I'm too afraid to even show them off.... Tiff then shifted her gaze to the hall where she could now see movement as the band headed from the elevator to their rooms. She looked back at Melissa who was running around in her underwear but by the time she realized what was happening, Nick was running toward the room, his eyes half bugging out of his head as he skidded to a halt in the doorway.
"Mel..." Tiff hissed through her teeth as Melissa slid a pair of silver leather pants on.
"Hm?" Melissa asked, her back still to the door.
"I think she was referring to me..." Nick cut in as Melissa whirled around in surprise.
"Oh, hi..." she replied, forgetting that all she was wearing was a green bra and silver pants.
"Is that the new fashion statement?" Nick asked with a grin.
"What if it was?" she replied with a smirk as Tiff's face turned an odd shade of red from laughing.
"Then I'd tell you to start running cuz the fashion police are after you!"
"That's it!" she replied with a slight laugh before she started toward him. He stepped back a bit before turning and running back down the hall, her hot on his heels. The other Backstreet Boys, just figuring Nick had disappeared in his room to play Nintendo now found him running down the hall hooting and hollering with a half-naked girl chasing after him. They watched in amusement as she tackled him from behind, bringing both of them to a laughing heap on the floor. They then heard giggling coming from the end of the hall to see another girl standing in an open doorway.
The site of Melissa straddling Nick's back was interesting to say the least as she giggled uncontrollably and fell forward to rest her head in the center of his back. He twisted beneath her until he was on his back and she was perched on his stomach, stilling laughing.
"That...was...FUN!" she exclaimed between laughs.
"Yeah!" Nick replied with a smile as she tried to get up. Her laughter caused her to lose balance and fall down onto her knees. She soon calmed down and got to her feet to scamper down the hall to her room where she ran in and jumped onto the bed, still giggling slightly as her sister gave her a "look".
The door was then closed by Tiff as the guys exchanged looks before Nick and Brian ran to stick their ears to the door. Inside they could here Tiff's voice."
"Are you insane?!"
"It's possible!" Melissa replied with a giggle.
"You're not funny. Do you have any idea what you just did?"
"Yeah...I jumped the hottest guy on the planet!" Melissa replied with more giggles.
"You acted like an idiot..that's what you did. How could you tackle Nick Carter in only a pair of tacky silver pants and a bra?!"
"My pants aren't tacky, and what should you care about what I do?! You're worse than Mom!"
"Well someone has to look after you!"
"I don't need looking after! I'm 18 years old dammit! You think that just because you can legally drink you're old enough to boss me around! I'm not taking this!" Melissa exclaimed. "I'm leaving!"
"But this is your room..."
"I knew that..." Melissa replied softly. The boys could then hear Tiff chuckle lightly.
"Mel...I'm sorry. Come here...give me a hug."
"I'm sorry too. You know I love you..."
The two Boys then went back to their rooms, sick of the mushy details, to play video games.
