Chapter 3

I woke up to the Florida sunlight streaking through the window. Nick's arm was still around my waist, and the rest of the house was silent. I crawled out of bed, and sat on a chair, watching Nick sleep. He was so peaceful, and beautiful. And I loved him so much that sometimes it hurt to think about it. I smiled at his ruffled blonde hair, and the way he looked while he slept. I just wanted to lay down next to him, and stay there forever.

He stirred in his sleep, and started mumbling incoherently about food. I started to laugh, and he blinked his eyes opened slowly. He looked over at me, a cute little pout on his face. "What are you laughing at?" I just shook my head, and crossed the room, to sit on him in bed. He made a strangling noise as I sat on him. "You weigh a ton, Laur." I smacked him playfully, and kissed the tip of his nose. "Just kidding! Love you," he said as he struggled to sit up, and kiss me.

"Morning breath," I laughed and he stood up defensively.

"Well if you're gonna act like that…" he began and started to walk slowly out the door.

"Get back here!" I laughed and pulled on the back of his shirt, and pushed him on the bed. I put my hands around his waist, and kissed him deeply. "I love you," I said, as he smiled.

"Love you too," he laughed and held his hand out to help me out of bed. We walked into the guestroom, and it was empty. Nick shrugged and we continued into the living room.

Cartoons were on, and Brian, AJ, Leigh-Anne, and Allie were sitting on the couches, eating ice cream, and watching Cartoon Network. As soon as we saw them, we burst out laughing, and they all looked at us sheepishly. "We were wondering when you two were gonna get up," Brian said as he polished off the rest of the chocolate ice cream in his bowl.

Nick rolled his eyes, and pulled me into his lap, as we sat down on the Lazy Boy. "I can't believe you're eating ice cream for breakfast. What time is it anyway?" I asked as AJ licked his spoon.

"It's about 9," Allie said as she snuggled closer to AJ.

We all sat in silence, watching the TV, until Leigh-Anne said sadly, "I can't believe you guys are going on tour in three days." Nick squeezed my hand, as I swallowed hard.

Brian hugged Leigh-Anne to him, and said, "I know baby. It sucks."

I ran my hand through Nick's hair, thinking about the tour. Leigh-Anne wasn't going to be able to go, but Allie and I would go with them for the tour. Kevin's girlfriend, Elizabeth, wasn't going either. Leigh-Anne and Elizabeth both had to stay to work, but Allie and I could take off.

"It's okay, Leigh-Anne. We'll make sure he doesn't do anything too stupid, right Al?" I looked reassuringly at Leigh-Anne as Allie laughed, "We are talking about Brian here, girls. The most faithful man in the world." That caused some laughs from the peanut gallery. Then they all started talking about the tour, but I played with Nick's hair, thinking about how hard it was going to be leaving Leigh-Anne. She was one of my best friends, and it was going to be hard to leave her.

I smiled and stood up. "Anyone want a real breakfast?"

AJ looked at me suspiciously. "What do you have in mind?"

I laughed a hurled a pillow at his head. "Whatever Nick has left in the house."

"Which is probably not a lot," Brian smirked as we all ran into the kitchen.
