If I could turn, turn back the hands of time
Then my darlin' you'd still be mine.

*~Nick's Point Of View~*

I tucked in my blue shirt. I glanced at myself in the mirror, before grabbing the phone. 'Step One done,' he I thought with a smirk. 'If Allie doesn't agree to this, then I'll have to fall back on making sure Lauren likes how I look.'

I punched in some numbers. A couple rings before Allie picked up.

"Al?"

"What Nick?" she asked, and I could hear the hair dryer on in the background.

"I need you to do something for me." I took a deep breath before going on. "Call Lauren and tell her that you can't pick them up."

I could hear the hair dryer shut off. "Why Nick?" she asked suspiciously.

"Because…you know why! I want to take Lauren there."

"Oh," she said, in a really high voice, and I could hear her laughing.

"I'm serious. But like, tell Jen first, then call back in about five minutes and tell Laur. Tell Jen to make up something."

"You owe me big time, Carter."

"You're a life saver Al. Thanks."

"I'll call you back in ten."

"Bye."

*~Lauren's Point Of View~*

"Black Sandals or Red heels?" Jen asked as she rushed in to my room. We were both getting dressed to go out to a club. Brian had been released earlier that week, and Leigh Anne was having a 'Brian is well again, so it's time to celebrate' party at a club. Allie and AJ planned on announcing their engagement that night. All the guys were going to be there; Kevin and Liz, Leigh-Anne and Brian, Al and AJ; Howie, Nick, Jen,and me. Allie was gonna swing by and pick us up in about twenty minutes.

"Wear your red heels. I'm wearing my black sandals." I held up my foot, showing off my black sandals, red toe nails, and a delicate silver anklet.

"Not hoping on impressing anybody, are we?" Jen asked sarcastically, putting on my red sandals instead. I rolled my eyes and rubbed some glitter lotion on my arms.

"Please. Don't make me laugh." I said back, and the phone rang. Jen was still fiddling with the straps, so I grabbed my cordless.

"Pizza Hut," I answered cheerfully.

"Can I speak to Jen?" a muffled voice asked. I smiled and handed the phone over to Jen.

"It's for you," I told her.

*~Jen's Point Of View~*

"Hello?"

"Jen listen it's me Allie. Do not let Lauren know this is me on the phone. Is she still in the room with you?"

"Umm…yeah."

"Get up, and go somewhere where she can't hear you."

"Okay, hold on." I stood up, looked over at Lauren and said, "Hold on I'll be back in a few, okay?"

She was so busy doing her fingernails, I don't think she heard me. I walked out, and sat down on my bed.

"Alright Al. What?"

"Here's the plan. Nick wants us to play matchmaker. He wants to take Lauren to the club. So here's what I thought up. You go tell Lauren something came up at work, or some bogus excuse like that. Then I'll call back in five, explain to her that I can't pick her up. Just head to the club, and I'll meet you there. Eventually Nick and Lauren will show up."

"Who thought this up?"

"Who else? Nick."

"I wondered why it sounded so screwy. But I'll do it. See you in a few."

"Later." I clicked off the phone, and headed back in Lauren's room. Thank God I know how to act.

"Lauren?" I called out, my voice anxious. I hid behind the doorframe. Lauren can read my face like a book.

"Yeah?"

"That was work. They need me in there as soon as possible."

"Okay. I'll tell Al when she comes. Are you gonna come at all?"

"I'll be down there probably around eleven. I'm leaving now okay?" I crossed my fingers behind my back.

"Kay. Bye."

"Bye."

'That was easy,' I thought as I grabbed my coat. 'She's usually asking a billion questions. Something, or SOMEONE, must be on her mind.'

*~Lauren's Point Of View~*

I heard the front door closed as Jen left. 'She works too hard,' I thought to myself. The phone rang again.

"Burger King." I answered.

"Lauren. It's me Al. I can't pick you guys up. I'm having car trouble. AJ's gonna come by later and take me down to the club." Allie said in one breath.

"Well who I am supposed to catch a ride with?" I asked.

"I already called Leigh-Anne. She said she'd send one of the guys to pick you up. They're all heading home from the studio."

"Okay." I said hesitantly.

"See you."

"Bye."

*~Allie's Point Of View~*

I tapped my finger nails on my dresser as the phone at Nick's rang.

"Yep?"

"All systems go. It's a lift off, Houston." I said.

"Something's not right with that sentence, but I'll let it slide." Nick replied. "Jen already left?"

"As far as I know. Lauren thinks one of you are gonna pick her up. Don't be late." I warned.

"Thanks Al."

"Have I mentioned you owe me big time?"

"Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. Bye."

"Uh huh." I clicked off my phone and threw myself on the bed. 'This better work,' I thought. AJ popped his head out of the bathroom.

"What's up?"

"Nothing. Nothing at all." I said.
