"Oh my God!" Elle screamed. "It's the 20th!"
"I see this Elle," Carrie commented drowsily from the next room. "But, it's also 4:00 in the morning. I really want to sleep."
"Sorry Cares." Elle said apologetically.
Elle felt like a six year old waiting for Santa Claus on Christmas. She had been up since 2:00 thinking about the interview that was to take place today. Hundreds of different emotions were flooding her entire being. Elle had never been this excited about an interview in her entire career. Thinking back, all her interviews had been more like chores than something that she had actually looked forward to conducting. "Maybe that's because I ended up interviewing 'NSync and Britney Spears before their 1999 tour. Definitely not my idea of a great pair," Elle thought. Deciding that there was no point in trying to fall back to sleep, Elle got up took a shower.
At 5:20, Elle was dressed in a beautiful light blue V-neck shirt and a long denim skirt.
"They said casual. I hope that this is okay for MTV." Elle thought.
By 6:45, Elle had gotten Carrie to finally wake up and get ready to go. Twenty minutes later, they were both out the door and ready to start the day.
"Today's the day Nickers," AJ commented to Nick as the group was getting ready for the 3:30 prep session with Elle Bradley. "You get to see your long lost love."
"Damnit! Would you shut up already Bone? I doubt that Elle even remembers who I am, or if she even wants to speak to me."
Um, remembers who you are? Who are you trying to fool. Most people, whether they like it or not, know who Nick Carter is. Plus, Elle works for Jive. If she didn't know who you were, she might as well quit." Brian commented while pulling on a baseball hat.
""Okay Bri, whatever you say, but I bet I could find someone that doesn't know who I am," Nick challenged.
"I'll take that bet, but the person has to be from this planet. Okay Frack?" Brian laughed.
"That was about as funny as a paper bag Bri." At that, Nick and Brian began laughing at how lame their conversation had become. In just a couple more hours, they would all be in the MTV studios recording their live interview with Elle Bradley.
As Elle was sitting in the prep room at MTV studios getting her hair and makeup done with 20 minutes until the pre-interview meeting, her cell phone rang.
"Elle Bradley, Jive Records New York."
"Hello Ms. Bradley, this is Ted Walsh, the manager of the loft. I am afraid that I have some bad news."
"Oh damnit," Elle thought. "What is the news?" she asked.
"Well, due to the low number of people living in the loft, the City Commissions Board has decided to allow potential buyers to build a new mini mall on our location."
"So, in other words, Carrie and I have to find somewhere else to live? How soon?" Elle replied, suddenly realizing the anger in her voice.
"They need everyone's belonging out by Sunday. That gives you two days. I had no choice. I am so sorry to do this to you." Ted said apologetically.
"It's not your fault. I am sorry for you. Are you going to be okay?" Elle asked.
"I think so. Fortunately, the new buyers offered more money then usual. I must cut this conversation short though. I still have about 100 people to call before 6:00," Brad said sarcastically. Thank you for being such a wonderful person Elle. I will hopefully see you tomorrow?"
"Yeah, nice talking to you Ted." With that, Elle hung up the phone and sighed.
"Where the hell am I going to move to now?" Elle thought to herself.
Ten minutes later, Elle, along with all five member off the Backstreet Boys were being ushered into the meeting room. It was just 30 minutes until they would all be on international television for one shining hour.
