Chapter 7

Chapter 7

School was very long that day. It seemed to go on forever. Cassie was draggin' at the end of the day. She walked out to her car and saw Nick standing with Melissa by hers. Cassie wished to have what they had. But, she couldn't find the right guy. Nick and Melissa kissed. Her heart ached as she watched them. And then, reality checked in. She was in love. Madly in love. This whole time she had been looking for the right guy and he was already right there. The more Nick and Melissa kissed, the more her heart tore into a thousand pieces. Cassie loved Nick with all of her heart and it was breaking because he was with someone lse. She went home and called Morgan.

Morgan went right over to Cassie's when she heard she had a problem. "What's wrong, Cassie? And why did you call me about it and not Nick?"

"I can't tell Nick," Cassie said.

"Why? Did you guys have a fight or something?"

"No. Nothing like that."

"I'm lost," Morgan said.

"Well, you see, it's about him."

"Alright. Tell me what's going on right now."

"I'm in love with him," Cassie blurted out.

"I knew it!" Morgan jumped up and yelled. "I was right. You have feelings for Nick!" Morgan proceeded to jump up and down screaming.

"Excuse me, but this is nothing to be happy about," Cassie interrupted.

"Yes it is. I just needed you to admit you liked him before I started anything."

"What are you talking about, Morgan?"

"We'll have Nick crawling after you and leave Melissa in the dust."

"You always have a plan, don't you?" Cassie said skeptically.

"Yep. Always. You'll get a date for my party. You can take Reuben. You'll dance with him all night and flirt like crazy. Nick will get so jealous.

"No way. Reuben is too nice of a guy and I would never use him like that."

"This is not a problem, Cassie. I already talked to Reuben about it. He would love to help fix you up with Nick. He feels the same way as I do about the two of you being a couple."

"I cannot believe you did all this," Cassie said.

"Come one, Cassie. This is going to be the best."

"But, Nick doesn't even like me in that way."

"You don't know that. This is your chance to find out."

"I don't know. . ."

"What do you have to lose?" Morgan asked.

"Okay. I'll do it."
