The next morning, Billie woke up and smiled. She saw Brian sleeping soundly. He was adorable, not to mention sweet. He woke up shortly after; he was a light sleeper and he had felt Billie's head lift from his shoulder.
"Morning," greeted Billie.
"Morning" replied Brian.
He looked into her eyes, and she stared into his, they were both drawn to each other and they finally kissed. Brian's lips felt warm, soft and gentle on Billie's lips and she could feel something indescribable, almost like electricity flowing through her. Brian felt almost the same way. Billie's arms snaked around his neck and he felt tingles flowing through his neck. His arms proceeded to wrap around her waist. Brian wasn't usually the sort of person inclined to start making out with people he didn't know very well, but under the circumstances of this being a very special girl, he couldn't resist.
Jamie woke up in Nick's bed. She forgot where she was for a second, then it hit her. She had slept with Nick, whom she didn't even know his last name. Her head was resting on Nick's chest. She could hear him snoring softly. His arm was tightly wrapped around her. She didn't want to wake him. She remembered Billie and started to worry. My best friend is sitting somewhere, cold and drenched in the forest, and here I am, screwing a freaking gorgeous guy, thought Jamie. A wave of guilt flooded her.
In actual fact, Billie was having the time of her life in Brian's arms.
Little did she know, Nick had woken up. He saw Jamie on him and pretended to still be asleep. He thought of what he was going to do. He didn't want to have another girlfriend, not after what his ex did to him. No, it was too soon, thought Nick. He couldn't trust his ex girlfriend; one of the sweetest girls he had ever known. How in the world was he supposed to trust Jamie, who looked like a female AJ, only tougher and whom he had only met last night? Both Jamie and Nick had no idea what sparked it off, but once it had started, neither could nor wanted to stop it.
Jamie convinced herself that one: it was the beer and two, and she had wanted some comfort from the guilt she was feeling and three, he was quite cute and he wasn't bad in bed either.
Nick, however, did not admit he was attracted to the girl, but he was too scared of being hurt again. His ex had really screwed him up.
Jamie, then, noticed that Nick was awake. She got up and started dressing.
"That was.." said both of them at the exact same time. They blushed
"You first" insisted Nick.
"Wrong" said Jamie.
"Exactly the word I was looking for."
"No offense, you were good, but it was just not meant to happen."
"None taken. I feel exactly the same way. Listen, can we just forget this ever happen?"
"Gladly. Screwing a Backstreet Boy is not exactly on my list of achievements."
Nick bit his lip. he didn't like being insulted but he just kept quiet, as Jamie stumbled into the bathroom.
Wow, thought Billie. She had never experienced a kiss quite like that before. They finally broke for air and were just gazing into each others eyes without saying a word. He was so gorgeous, his blue eyes sparkled at her and the way he was smiling, her heart couldn't help but melt. Their gazing was interrupted by footsteps. A policeman walked into the cave.
"Are you ok, we've been looking for you?" said the policeman, as he helped Brian up first. A policewoman appeared behind him with blankets.
"We're fine. Just a little cold and hungry," smiled Brian. He helped Billie up and they accepted the blankets from the policewoman. The couple climbed into the police car together.
At the stables, Nick and Jamie had already been contacted. They went there immediately. Brian and Billie were already waiting there, sitting together on the couch in the office.
Thank god!" sighed Jamie as she gave a huge hug to Billie.
"Don't scare us like that again! You ok?" asked Nick to Brian as he gave him a friendly hug.
Billie couldn't stop smiling. Jamie got suspicious and in the car on the way home. She confronted her best friend.
"You're smitten, aren't you?" asked Jamie. She knew Billie well enough to say so.
"You got me. Oh, he was so amazing. When, we kissed, oh, it was so good, like fireworks were going off everywhere," sighed Billie.
"Wait a minute. You kissed him? You, who refused to kiss Robbie Madison in senior year only until your 10th date!"
"Brian's different. He's, he's…" Billie was at a lost for words.
"Looks like you've found yourself a winner," smiled Jamie. She was happy for her best friend, although she couldn't help but find it ironic that Nick and herself got together, while their lost friends were making out at the same time.
