Chapter 10

"Hi," greeted Jamie. It was Monday, and they were going to start filming. Jamie had told Billie and Danielle that she had to go set up stuff for her new job.

"Hey" replied Nick. "So, where should we start first?" asked Nick, he was clutching on to his camera.

"I have no clue. But I guess, maybe we could interview their families first," suggested Jamie. She wasn't too sure what she was getting herself into, but she was sure that if this came out right, Billie would love it.

"Fine. But, we'd better get to Harry first, 'cause he's leaving soon."

"Brian, honey," said Billie in bed as she stroked Brian's hair.

"Yeah, sweetie?" answered Brian, as he was still not asleep.

"Um, I have something to tell you, I've been holding it in for quite a while, but I think you should know."

"You know that you can tell me anything."

"Well, it's about Nick."

"What about Nick?" He thought it was strange that his fiancee was talking about his best friend, while they were lying together in their bed.

"Well, it kind of concerns Jamie too."

"Yeah…..and…" said Brian curiously.

"Well, they're both parents."

"I don't get you" said Brian in a puzzled expression.

"William. Nick is William's father." It hit Brian that that was why William seemed so familiar somehow when he first met him.

"But how, why when, where?" asked Brian in shock.

"Nick doesn't know, and Jamie intends on keeping this from him. That night you and me met, they had a one night stand type of thing."

"Oh my god. Nick, Nick, Nick, what did you get yourself into?"

"What about Jamie? But, you can't tell him Bri. I promised her, she said it was ok if I told you, but not if he finds out. Not from us anyway. She'll tell him sooner or later, I can feel it. This will sort itself out in a matter of time."

"Holy shit, Nick's a father."

Over the time Nick and Jamie spent together. They realized they had a lot in common and enjoyed each others company. Jamie was going to start working as an animator at Disney, and Nick was still really into drawing. They had pretty similar taste in music, and their personalities just clicked. Jamie managed to forget that he was the father of her son, and they got along, actually, more than just fine. Meanwhile, Nick realized her was falling in love. He had thought that he had fallen in love before, but he hadn't. He was sure that this was the real thing. When she was around, he felt like he could do anything. He felt as if a dream had come true. Now, he really understood the lyrics to all those love songs he's been singing for the last 8 years.

Jamie on the other hand, didn't know quite what to think. She acknowledged that she was falling for Nick, but she wasn't too sure what to do or make of it. Plus, there was still the issue of Nick's girlfriend.

Eve kind of sensed the whole thing going on between the two of them, but her suspicions were not confirmed, until a few days before the wedding.

Eve and Nick were sitting next to each other on the couch, in Brian's house. She leaned to kiss him, and when their lips met, she felt that he was distracted. She could feel that he wasn't all there. In fact, she noticed that his eyes were wide open, and in a distant stare, focused on Jamie, playing with William. Jamie knew that the couple were both making out, but pretended to ignore it. She couldn't ignore the pain she was feeling. She felt as though her guts were being ripped apart. She wanted so much for it to have been her that he was kissing. Get a grip girl, he's not even yours, and he probably never will be, said Jamie to herself mentally. She couldn't stand the sight of it any longer, and she picked William up to go look for her best friend, or even Danielle. She could have been even looking for the Count Dracula, she didn't care, she just wanted to get out of the room.

Nick felt uneasy. Here he was, in full lip lock with his girlfriend, and he was longing, wishing that it was someone else sitting across the hall from him. He couldn't help it.

Eve was feeling concerned. She knew that her boyfriend was a goner. He was head over heels in love with that girl, and there was nothing she could do about it. Although, it didn't really bother her that much, because in truth, she wasn't really in love with Nick that much. Maybe not at all, but she knew that Nick felt uncomfortable, and probably wouldn't be the one to be breaking it off, so she knew she had to make the first move.

The End
