Chapter 4 : Let's Have A Party

Nick sat on the floor in a corner of the dance room. He furiously wrote down the song that had been playing in his head. He taped his foot to the beat he thought it should go with.

The other Backstreet Boys waited impatiently around him.

Finally, Nick threw his pencil down.

"I'm done!" he said thankfully.

Brian picked up the paper and read it. "Hey, this is really good!" Brian said, passing the paper to Kevin.

"He's right!" Kevin exclaimed.

After all the guys had read Nick's song, Nick told them what instruments should be played and in what volume, time , etc.

"This should be really good, let's go practice." Kevin said.

*At the Same Time*

'Where'd Nick go? Did I like scare him away or something?' Melanie wondered.

*One Hour Later*

Melanie sighed. The party was almost over, and she still hadn't found Nick.

All of a sudden, the lights dimmed and went out. Everyone began yelling when a voice boomed over the speakers: "But all I wanna know is where the party's at?" the man's voice said.

The lights came on, focusing on the stage. Melanie gasped! There, on the stage, was Nick! She couldn't believe it! There were also four other guys who looked to be about his age, maybe a little older.

A band behind the guys began to play, while all five guys began to sing "Lets have a party!"

Melanie couldn't believe it! There was Nick up there, singing and dancing! She couldn't make out every word of the song, but here's what was being sang:

"Lets have a party! Lets have a party! Everybody, lets have a party!"

Then Nick went to the center of the stage and began to sing: "I've been watching you, you've been watching me. Lets stop playing games girl, come and dance with me! Don't you feel the music? Don't you feel the groove yeah? Come on girl, get on the floor, I wanna dance with you!"

Once again, Melanie gasped. Nick had been singing to her, and these lyrics, they sounded like they had been written just for her and Nick! The song continued, with the four guys singing the chorus and Nick singing: "Every body, throw your hands up in the air! I like the way you swing it! (Nick moves his waist around) Mmm mm, your lookin' good! Girl ya gotta work that body!" T

hen Nick JUMPED OFF the stage, and went directly to Melanie, and began to sing the second verse of the song: “Girl I must be dreamin', to have a night like this: We're holding hands, being close, sharing our first kiss! You really blow my mind, I can't believe it's true. I've been waiting all night long to get a girl like you!"

Then the others sang the chorus, while Nick sang: "Shake it baby, shake it! We're movin' to the groove, yeah! All the homies and the hunnies here for all. We’re gonna have a party! Everybody enjoy yourself with me!"

Then Nick hopped back on the stage, while three of the guys rapped: Welcome everybody to the party, don't forget the hunnies, the mad fun's just begun at the party, yo!

Give a call a beep, make sure your girl ain't creepin'. It's time to get it on, the dance floor.

More then what you came here for, I see you lookin' at me, across the dance floor.

I wish for that sweet little kiss. Don't be no Cinderella and go poof after midnight, oh, yeah!"

Then Nick jumped off the stage, and went to Melanie again. She could barely hear what he was singing, because of the people cheering, but he took her hands, and they began to dance, while he sang.

When they song ended, every single person in the room clapped and cheered, including Melanie.

When the applause finally stopped, Melanie told Nick "You have a great singing voice, and that song was wonderful!"

"I wrote it for you."

"Really!?"

"Yes." Nick replied, taking her hands in his.

"Ohmigod! Thank you!" Melanie thanked Nick, amazed.

"Then Nick leaned forward. Melanie did the same. There lips touched. They kissed. Melanie slipped her arms around around Nick, and he slipped his around her. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

"Melanie! someone's here to see you!' Melanie's room mate Jessica called.

Melanie walked into the room and her jaw dropped.

"Nick! Oh my... What are you doing here?!"

"I had to see you!" he said.

"Well, I'll leave you two alone," Jessica said, hurrying out of the room.

"Nick, I, I haven't seen you since the party! How did you find out where I live!?"

"I have my ways. It was easy, what was hard was finding your room! This college is big man!" Nick laughed.

"But, why did you come?" Melanie asked, still astonished.

"I needed to find you! That night...I, couldn't, ya know, tell you I, well, I just, I um...I REALLY like you! And it's like, ya know, hard to tell you to your face, but, I just, care about you. And would you go out with me? On like a REAL date? Please. You can say no but..." Nick trailed off.

"Oh Nick, your sweet! Of course I'll go out with you!" Melanie exclaimed.

"Oh, that's great!, cool!"

So Nick and Melanie set a date and picked a place to go and what time Nick would pick Melanie up.

"Oh, and Nick," Melanie began as Nick was walking out the door.

"Yeah?" Nick turned around.

Melanie gave him a very passionate kiss on the lips.

"Wow!" was all Nick could say.
