*****Saturday: Valentine's Day*****
I knew Nick had something up his sleeve, when he asked me to dinner on Friday. But none the less, I agreed. I mean it was V-Day after all and Nick is my boyfriend. So, Jane and I went out Saturday afternoon to get something nice to wear that night. I finally decided on a short black sleeveless dress. It came up around my neck. We were supposed to leave around 7:00. At 5:00, I took a shower and began getting ready. Nick hadn't said much to me all day. It seemed kinda strange. We hadn't even kissed at all. As I got dressed, I wondered what his deal was. What was he planning for that night? I finally slipped into the dress, my hair and make-up done. I walked over to BJ's full-length mirror and looked myself over. I looked great, at least I thought so.
'I hope Nick likes it,' I thought. Just then someone knocked on the door.
"Come in," I said, hoping it wasn't Nick. It was Angel.
"Hey, Angel. Where's your Mom?" I asked, still looking in the mirror for anything that was wrong.
"Getting packed," she said. Aaron's other manager had called while we were shopping and now Jane was going on the tour with him. So, Nick and I were going to have to stay with Angel and Leslie. But, Jane wasn't leaving until tomorrow morning.
"Is Nick waiting?" I asked.
"Yep. He's gonna die. You look cool," she said.
"Thanks. Well, I guess I'm ready," I said and turned around.
When I walked down the stairs, Nick was sitting on the couch. He was wearing a black leather jacket with a dark green dress shirt under it. He also had on a pair of black dress pants and black boots. When he saw me, his mouth dropped open.
"Oh...my...um," was all he could choke out.
"Nick? You alright?" I asked.
"Yeah...oh...yeah. It's just that...Well you um...wow...look...um ...great," he stuttered.
"Okay. Thanks. Let's go. I'm starved," I said.
"Okay. Let's go," he said taking my hand.
"Wait! Wait! Wait!" yelled Jane from upstairs.
"Mom!" said Nick impatiently.
"I need a picture," she said running down the stairs.
"Alright, alright," Nick muttered.
He had been holding my hand, but now he slipped his arm around my waist. I put my arm on his back. The camera flashed. Nick moved his hand down and grabbed my hand.
"Good-night Mom," Nick said practically throwing me out the door. He ran ahead and opened the car door. We took Jane's champagne colored BMW. He closed my door and ran around to his side of the car.
The restaurant was nice. It was very fancy. Nick had made reservations. Nothing really happened. We spent about two hours at the restaurant.
After that, we drove to the beach. Now, I guess I'll get whatever Nick has up his sleeve.

(Nick when he first sees Jen for dinner.)
I am so nervous. Why am I so nervous? It's just a nice date with my beautiful girlfriend. Yeah, but tonight I'm popping the big question. What if she says no? What if she says yes? What if she wants to sleep with me now? No. We can't. What if I can't ask her? What if... ? I looked up and I saw the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. Hopefully, my future wife. She was wearing a short black dress with no sleeves. She looked so fine. After Mom got a freakin' picture, we left.

Dinner was nice, yet uneventful. During the whole meal, I thought about the ring in my pocket. It and Jen were the only things on my mind. Finally, we were finished with the meal and we left. I had decided to take her to the beach just like we had, when I had first kissed her and heck, the first time I actually fell in love with her. Up until then, I had just been trying to figure her out. I pulled the car up to the gate of the beach and got out.
"Hold on a sec," Jen said. I looked over and she was taking off her shoes and hose.
"Are you planning on taking off your dress too?" I asked half joking, half seriously. I had wanted to make love to her numerous times and almost had on several occasions. I just hoped that subject didn't come up.
"Well, I wasn't planning on it. But, if that's what you want," she said laughing.
"That's quite alright," I said laughing.
She threw her stripped accessories in the car and closed the door. As she walked up, I took her hand in mine. The ring popped into my mind. I knew now that the ball was in my court. Now, it was all in the timing. I led her down the beach a little ways, until I couldn't stand it any longer. I reached into my pocket...
