Weeks to come…
Nick and Melody never got the chance to talk. Nick was always out with Mandah. Melody knew it was going to happen. She didn’t want to face that she was taking Nick from her again, but it was all right there in front of her. The guys were finally off tour and Melody lives with Nick in Tampa.
"Are we ever going to do anything together Nick!" Melody yelled.
"Yes."
"Well when! I haven't got to spend time with you in god knows how long!" she yelled.
"I don’t know." Nick walked off and called Mandah as usual.
"Damn. I wish she would just go away and never come back. I wonder if I could do that?" She sat in the living room and thought. Nick finally came downstairs.
"Come on let's go?" Nick said grabbing their coats.
"Where are we going?"
"You'll have to see" Nick smiled. They got in the car and drove off. When they got to their destination she saw Mandah.
"Figures.. he just brought me along so I wouldn't feel left out. That’s so typical of Nick. Why do I even bother? Oh yea that’s right because I like him!" Melody was so furious inside that she couldn’t handle it anymore. She just wanted to go home and get away from everyone so no one could go and bother her.
"Nick I am going to catch a cab home. I don’t want to be here." Melody said getting up.
"It's because of me isn’t it?" Mandah asked.
"Duh!" Melody gave her an attitude and a rude look.
"No.. come on stay please?" Nick gave her a puppy face.
"No I am sorry I can't" she's never turned that face down.
"Fine I'll see you when I get home and we can talk."
"That’s what you said 4 weeks ago Nick." Melody walked off crying. She got a cab and went home. She called up Brian who she knew could make her happy.
"Melody I am going to come and pick you up and we are going out."
"Okay." Melody was still feeling a bit down. Brian was there in 15 minutes.
"Wow!" Brian exclaimed.
"What?"
"I've never seen you like this before?"
"It's Nicks favorite. I thought I would wear it since we were "supposed" to go out tonight.. we did, but Mandah turned out to be there. So I said the hell with it and came home that’s when I called you." Melody explained.
"Nick doesn’t know what he's thinking" Brian said.
"I don’t understand though."
"You've known Nick longer than I have. Has he done this before with her?"
"Yea… when they first started going out."
"I remember that!" Brian said. Melody smiled.
"So I knew if I called you that you would make me smile and laugh again.
"And it looks like its working too." Brian smiled.
"It sure is."
"Melody there is something that I have to tell you." Brian said. Melody got a disgusted look on her face.
"It's nothing bad."
"Oh okay good."
"Well when I saw Nick going out with Mandah I felt sorry for you. I have kind of grown feelings for you. I mean your fun to be around and I can see why you and Nick are good friends. Well what I am trying to say is will you go out with me?" Melody smiled and then laughed. She thought what would Nick do? Would he be pissed? or be happy?
"Brian.. I would love it." she kissed Brian and gave him a hug.
"Really I thought you would be no just because of nick and everything."
"I did think of it, but I thought I have to get on with my life. I can't just sit around waiting for ever and a day for me and Nick to go out." Melody said.
"That’s true."
"So ya wanna go out?"
"Sure!" Melody left a note for Nick telling him that she would be home soon.

When Nick got home he went into the kitchen to get something to eat and he saw the note:
Nick, I called Brian when I got home. We went out for a little while. We'll talk when I get home okay? Love you bye Love, Melody
Nick picked up the phone and dialed Brian's cell phone number to se if he could talk to Melody
"Dammit! He ain't answering." Nick put the phone down. He walked up the stairs and went into his room and pulled out the photo album of him and Melody when they were younger. Nick tried to hold back his tears because he felt so bad that he hasn’t been paying attention to Melody only to Mandah. He tried to call once again, but there was still no answer. Nick finally trailed off to bed early.
Melody came home happy. She gave Brian a quick kiss good-bye and closed the door. She walked up the stairs and peeked into Nick's room. He was fast asleep with the photo album in his hands. She went through it and thought about they could have had, but not anymore. Nick woke up and saw Melody in his room.
"Your home" Nick sat up.
"Yea.. I just got home."
"It's 3 am what did you do?"
"Walked along the beach." Melody smiled.
"Don’t say you are going out with him" he whined.
"Yes I am thank you very much." Nick sat there and pouted.
"Don’t pout now. I felt bad alright."
"I know."
"Well why did you do it for?" she asked.
"Because I was jealous of you and Andy. I still like you Melody and it hurt me." Melody went and sat down on his bed.
"Nick I wish you would've told me a little earlier. Now I am happy with Brian."
"But we were happy back in the 7th grade when I kissed you." Nick whined.
"But that was 8 years ago Nick. This is now. You had all that time to say something." Melody said.
"I didn’t know how to."
"So now you thought if you went with Mandah you could fine your feelings and leave me?" she shouted.
"No."
"Well that’s what you did. And now it's too late." Melody walked out of the room and called Brian.
"Hello?"
"Who in the hell are you?" Melody yelled
"Brian's fiancé"
"who are you?"
"Brian's girlfriend."
"I don’t think so."
"He just asked me out tonight."
"Well he asked me to marry him last night." Melody hung up the phone and started to cry. Just when she thought something could go right it turned out to be wrong. She felt even more bad because she told Nick she was happy with Brian when now there isn't anything between them anymore. Nick heard somebody yelling next door. He got up and went to Melody's door. He walked in and taped her on the shoulder.
"Hey are you okay?"
"No Brian the "asshole" asked some chick to marry him last night and he had the freaking nerve to ask me out tonight" she cried in his arms.
"I had a feeling he would do this to you." Nick sat there and comforted her.
"Nick I am sorry I said those things to you in your room. I still have my feelings too. And I know they will never go away." she started to whip her tears away.
"Shh it's okay. Would you like to try and see what happens?" Nick asked. Melody smiled and nodded and kissed Nick. It was something that both of them have been wanting for so long..
