"So, what's this place you're going to again?" a skinny but tall blonde guy asked in a very kid-like voice.
"It's a business function, so get that smirk off your face!" gruffed another blonde figure, but with a bit more body and a few inches taller. It was rather obvious that the two were brothers as both bare close resemblances with facial expression, the intonation of their voice, and their body mannerisms. "Besides, Aaron," he grimaced at his brother while exaggerating his name, "what's it to you anyway?"
"I was just curious. You don't need to get all defensive, Nick!" he retorted at his older brother as he mimicked the same exaggeration Nick did when he said his name. "What's her name again? Heather?"
"Hailey...Hailey...something...what was that name of that judge that handled that murder trial last month? It was televised across the nation!"
Aaron let out a small chuckle, "Dude, you really expect me to know that?"
"Palmer! Hailey Palmer, that's her name! Howie and his girlfriend, Lee, and myself are going to meet up with her later today to discuss some...some business crap, I don't really know!" he curled his eyebrows then pulling out his cellular phone from his jean pocket to look at the time. "Speaking of which, I need to drop you off at home. I need to go home too and get dressed for that!"
"You're getting dressed for her? I thought you said it's a business function?" Aaron teased while chuckling as his older brother tried to smack him across the head for the sarcastic remark.
The two began to head towards where Nick had parked his car. Many of his friends, including his parents, have all been trying to set him up on a date with Hailey Palmer for as long as he can remember. Howie and Lee finally found a good excuse to get him to meet Hailey by asking him to help out with Hailey's interest of setting up a home recording studio in her house.
Nick Carter have not had much luck with finding true love: truth of the matter, he does not have much luck with finding just true like either. He came from a very rich and well-known family around the Florida state. People often treat him differently because of his name. Most of the girls he end up dating were only after one thing, and that is to take advantage of what he has and who he is. To be seen in the arms of Nick Carter was considered a great accomplishment and a sure fire shot of attaining their fifteen-minutes of fame.
To someone standing on the outside looking in, Nick project a lifestyle of pure perfection and completeness. But for someone who knows him for who he truly is as a person, they, though there are not that many, can see the sadness in his eyes and the loneliness that roamed his entirety hour after hour, day after day, for as long as he can remember.
Nick Carter existed, and the whole world knows it: it was his harsh "gift" from reality and he must accept it.
