A Week Later
It was Sunday afternoon and Toni would not come out of her room. She only came out to go to work last Monday. She ignored AJ the whole time and kept her mind on dancing. She hadn't eaten. She unplugged her phone and refused to talk to AJ no matter how many times he came over or called the main phone line. She had nothing to say to him. He hurt her the worst way possible. She could never forgive him for what he did. She had guys cheat on her before. But she just broke up with them, never cried or anything. They didn't mean that much to her like AJ did.
"Toni?" Angela asked from outside her door. "I have some lunch for you." She said holding a tray of food.
"Yeah Ton, come on you need to eat something." Allie added standing with Angela. The door was locked so they couldn't get in.
Toni got up from her bed and opened the door. She went back to her bed and laid down as Angela and Allie came inside.
"Here we have some soup and a sandwich. Turkey. Your favorite. And cream of mushroom." Angela said sitting on the unmade bed. Allie sat next to her.
"I'm not hungry." Toni said.
"You have to eat something." Allie said. Toni had a slight problem when she was 13. She was bulimic for a while. Everything she ate came right back up. But she got help and was fine after about 2 months. It was a very scary time for her family and friends.
"I don't want anything to eat."
"AJ came by today."
"I don't give a damn."
"He said he's sorry. And he really wants to talk to you." Angela said to her.
"I don't care."
"Ton, maybe there's an explanation for this whole thing."
"What kind of an explanation? Allie you know how I feel. You've been cheated on before. You know the hurt it causes and how you can never forgive. I can't just forgive and forget. It's not that easy."
"If you hate AJ so much then how come you're sulking around here? You have never done this before for any guy. You just broke up with them and moved on with your life. AJ means something to you. You have strong feelings for him. No matter how much you say you "hate" him, you don't." Angela said sternly.
"OK I don't hate him. I could never hate him. I just really dislike him right now. I have to get dressed and go run some errands."
"Like what?"
"I have places to go, bills to pay."
"Alright. We'll be downstairs." Allie said and her and Angela went back to the family room. "Man I hope this all works out."
"Yeah me too." Angela agreed. They watched TV for about 20 minutes when someone knocked on the door. "I got it." Angela said and opened the door to see AJ. "AJ, not now."
"I need to see her."
"She doesn't wanna see you."
"I need her. I love her so much Ang. I have to see her." He pleaded. He looked so sad. His eyes were all red and pleading for forgiveness.
"Come in." She said giving in. They went in the living room and sat down.
"What the hell is he doing here?" Allie demanded.
"He just needs to talk to Ton."
"Right like that's going to work. Look J, I have nothing against you. Because Toni cares for you. But don't you dare hurt her again."
"I won't. I'd never want to hurt Toni. I love her so much and I know what I did was beyond stupidity. But I really, really care about her. I've never felt this way about any other girl. She means so much to me and losing her would be the worst thing that could ever happen to me. I know my sorrys won't make all the wrongs right. But I don't know what else to do. No one else comes close to Toni. I love her so much and if I could get her back, I'd never let go."
"Aww AJ. That was actually sweet." Allie said. "You actually meant what you said. I could tell by the way you said it."
"It all came from my heart." "AJ." Toni called making her appearance. She'd been listening the whole time from the stairs.
"Toni, I need to talk to you." He said standing up.
"You love me?" She asked, tears brimming in her eyes.
"With all my heart." He replied realizing she heard it all.
She just stood there for a minute. Then she walked over to him. "I love you too." She said and threw her arms around his neck.
AJ sighed in relief and held her close not wanting to let go. Same with Toni. They were together again and they couldn't be happier.
