*ONE WEEK LATER*

Nick's parents had invited Adrianne and Nick over to their house for the afternoon. Emily was coming too. As they got out of the car, Adrianne shivered.

"I'm so cold." she said.

"Here" Nick said, he took off his black hooded sweatshirt and handed it to Adrianne. Now he had absolutely no shirt on.

"Thanks" Adrianne said as she put it on. She kissed him on the cheek.

"Not in love with Nick, huh?" Emily whispered to her sister.

Adrianne smacked Emily gently on the arm.

"Hey guys!" Aaron said walking over to them.

"Hi, Aaron" Adrianne said.

Aaron turned to Emily, "Hey, Em"

Emily smiled, "Hey, Aaron"

Emily and Aaron went off to play basketball.

"Awww" Nick said, "They like each other."

Adrianne's pager went off. She looked at it and rolled her eyes.

"Brian?" Nick asked.

Adrianne nodded yes.

"Aren't you gonna answer it?"

"No" Adrianne told him.

Nick put his arm around Adrianne and they walked into the house.

"Hi" Jane said to Adrianne and Nick, "Adrianne, where's Brian? I thought he'd be joining us."

"He's in Kentucky for a month." Adrianne replied. She went upstairs with BJ to read magazines.

"Is there something going on with you and Adrianne?" Jane asked her son.

"No, of course not." Nick said, "She's married to Brian."

Jane spoke again, "She's living with you this month isn't she?"

Nick nodded, "But, nothing's gonna happen."

Jane rolled her eyes, "I don't believe that Nick. I know you. You've been in love with Adrianne since the two of you were in diapers. Just be careful."

A little while later, everyone was outside eating and talking on the porch.

"So, Emily" Adrianne said, "It looks like you and Aaron are getting close."

"Yeah" Emily said, "But, I dunno if I'd actually go out with him."

"Why not?" Adrianne asked.

"Because" Emily replied, "First of all, he's two years younger than me."

Adrianne smiled, "Awww, sweetie, you shouldn't let that stop you. Two years is not a big deal. If he makes you happy, you should go for it."

"Hmm" Emily said, "Weren't we having a conversation similar to this a few days ago? Only I was referring to you and Nick."

"You're such a brat." Adrianne laughed, "I'm gonna go swimming with Nick. Wanna come?"

"No thanks" Emily said, "I'll leave the two of you alone." Adrianne and Nick got on their swimwear and went in the pool.

"CANNONBALL!" Nick shouted as he jumped into the pool, splashing Adrianne.

"I'm gonna get you for that Nicky!" Adrianne said. She threw a beach ball at Nick's head.

"Oh, you think that's funny?" Nick asked. He grabbed Adrianne by the waist and started tickling her.

Adrianne laughed and wrapped her arms around Nick's neck and her legs around his waist. Their faces were only inches apart. Nick began to lean in closer, when out of nowhere, Aaron threw a water balloon at him.

"AARON!" Adrianne said loudly, climbing out of the pool, "Get back here!"

She ran after Aaron. Not realizing there was a puddle of water along the way, she slipped and fell.

"Owww" Adrianne said. She held her knee.

Nick immediately got out of the pool and ran over to her, "OMG, are you ok?"

"Yeah" Adrianne said, "I'm alright. I just scraped my knee."

"Do you want me to take you to a hospital?" Nick asked, "You could have an infection or.."

"Nick" Adrianne interrupted, "Calm down. I'm ok, really. It just hurts a little bit, that's all." Nick smiled, "I bet I can make you feel better." He wiped the blood off. Nick, then, bent his head down and kissed Adrianne's knee. The two of them looked at each other. Nick stared at Adrianne in a way that made her feel incredibly happy. Brian had NEVER looked at her that way.

"Oh my god!" Emily said, "I think they're gonna kiss."

Everyone else thought they were gonna kiss too. But they didn't.

"Feel better?" Nick asked.

"Yeah" Adrianne replied, "Much better"
