"Look Matt didn't mean anything to me! I swear that's the truth!"
"If he didn't mean anything than why did you sleep with him?"
"I....I... don't know. It just happened!"
"Nice excuse unfortunately it's not good enough for me," he told her as he grabbed his bag and started stuffing things in it.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm packing. What does it look like?"
"You aren't going home are you?"
"No, why should I let you ruin my vacation. I'm rooming with AJ."
"You don't have to leave! I'm sorry! It won't happen again!"
"I'm sorry but I can't trust you anymore. I give you anything and everything you want and this is how you repay me? By sleeping with some other guy you just met last night? I thought that you were satisfied with me but I guess you proved me wrong."
"Why can't you just forgive me? Can't we just forget and move on?"
"No! Why should I spend my time with you, who obviously doesn't give a damn, when I could be spending my time with someone who cares?"
"I care! I really do!"
"Well, it sure doesn't look like it! Why did you do it anyway?"
"I don't know exactly. Maybe it was to pay you back for the way you were eyeing that girl last night!"
"What girl? What are you talking about?"
"The one with the twin sister! What was her name?"
"You mean Melissa?"
"Yea that was her name! You definitely looked interested in her last night!"
"I was not! And even if I was that is no excuse for you to immediately jump into bed with a guy!"
"Well, I'm sorry. I made a mistake. So sue me!"
Nick finished up packing, grabbed all his things and headed for the door. Before leaving he said, "As far as I'm concerned we are through. Have fun sleeping around," and left.
He couldn't believe he had said the last part. He always tried to keep his temper under control. All through his argument with Erin he was thinking: slut, bitch, whore, but he never said any of those things out loud.
He dropped his things off at AJ's room and then decided to call Melissa. He forgot he was supposed to try to find out how Meg was.
"What do you want me to do? Stop drinking?" Meg asked sarcastically.
"That's a good idea actually."
What was with Melissa lately, Meg wondered? This girl needs a life she told herself. Actually she needs more than that. She needs a man.
Just then the phone rang. Melissa picked up and said, "Hello, who's this?"
"Hey Melissa. It's Nick."
"Oh hi. Sorry I haven't called you yet."
"It's okay. So how's Meg?"
"She's fine. Being her usual sarcastic self."
"Oh that's good."
She realized then that he sounded a little sad, like something bad happened. "You don't sound so great. Did something happen?"
Nick sighed. "Yea actually something did. I woke up early, went to shoot some hoops and check on AJ and when I got back I found Erin bed with another guy."
"OMG I'm really sorry," she told him thinking that maybe for once in her life things were going great.
"It's OK. It's not like it was your fault or anything."
"You sound like you need some cheering up." Melissa could not believe she said that. It wasn't right of her to take advantage of the situation.
"Yea probably. Hey do you want to meet at the beach in like 15 minutes?"
"Sure! See ya then," Melissa said hanging up the phone. "Yessss!" she yelled.
"What's the matter? Why are you so happy now?" Meg asked.
"Well, Nick found Erin in bed with some dude and they are all over as a couple and he asked me to meet him at the beach!"
"So are you going to comfort him?" Meg asked with a devilish grin.
"Maybe," Melissa answered back.
"You have to wear that green bikini I made you buy! I knew it would come in handy."
"Yes, ma'am."
15 minutes later Melissa was all ready. She was wearing the infamous bikini and a pair of short blue denim shorts. "Well, I'm ready. Wish me luck."
"Good luck."
"Thanks but then again I don't think I have to worry much. Lady luck seems to be on my side lately."
