"Yea. She's going to be fine," Nick promised her.
"I know you probably think I'm psycho but I'm sorry I get really emotional and if I lost Meg I don't know what I'd do. We are really close only she's so much stronger than I am," she explained.
"It's okay. I understand," he assured her as he approached the hotel. "What room are you in?"
"314. Let's take the elevator up."
While they were in the elevator Megan woke up very suprised to be in Nick's arms. "What's going on?" she asked very puzzled.
"Oh Meg! I'm so glad you're awake! You had to much to drink and passed out at the bar. I was so worried about you!" Melissa explained to her.
"I would have been fine. You didn't have to make a big huge scene."
"We didn't make a scene. We are just taking you back to the room so you can rest. I can assure you that you are going to have a killer headache in the morning."
"Thank you for being cheerful," Meg said sarcastically.
"Well, at least your being yourself. I guess that means you'll be fine," Melissa said as they reached their floor.
The three of them stepped out of the elevator and walked towards the room. When they reached the room Nick asked, "Where should I put her?"
"You can put me on the bed," Meg answered rudely.
"Don't mind her. She gets like this," Melissa explained as Nick laid Meg on the bed.
"It's fine," Nick told her. "Here." He handed her a piece of paper.
"What's this," she asked.
"My room number. Call me tomorrow to tell me how Meg is doing."
"OK I will."
He turned to leave but before he stepped towards the door she called his name, "Nick! Wait!"
"Yea," he said turning around.
"Thanks for everything. I really appreciate it."
"It was no problem. Well, I better get back to Erin. I'll see ya. Goodnight." Then he stepped over to her and gave her a light kiss on her forehead.
It was only a friendly, innocent, polite kiss. It didn't mean anything but to Melissa it meant a lot. She could practically still feel the tingle from his lips on her forehead way after the time he left.
With a sweet smile on her lips she fell asleep peacefully dreaming of true love.
Nick walked over to Erin. "Hey what's up?"
"Nothing much. Hey Nick meet Matt," Erin introduced, gesturing towards the guy she was dancing with.
"Can I talk to you Erin?"
"We're talking right now."
"I mean outside."
"Oh OK. See ya later Matt," she said as Nick practically dragged her outside.
"Look if your mad because I was dancing with Matt its not like that."
"That's not what I'm upset about. I asked you to keep an eye on AJ and you decided to go out and have fun?"
"Well, its not like you weren't having a ball with those twins!"
"I was helping them! I wasn't doing anything fun with them."
"Sure," she said rolling her eyes. "Look, I'm really sorry Nick. I guess I underestimated you. Truce?"
"OK truce."
At that moment AJ came staggering out of the club.
"Let's go help AJ to his room and then we can go to bed," Nick told her.
"OK but do we have to go to sleep right away?" she asked with a devilish twinkle in her eye.
"Of course not but lets help AJ first."
"OK sounds good."
