Chapter 3: Elizabeth
Dear Diary,
I met the nicest and funniest guy today!! His name is Nick. He’s kinda shy, but I really like him. Just between you and me....I think he likes me too! I can’t believe how much I’ve fallen for him. Hell, I’ve only known the guy for 2 days! I’ve never had a crush like this before. Oh well....Rachel is here to pick me up. We’re going to her house to get ready and then we’re going out to dinner with Brian. Gosh I hope Nick is going with us!
Elizabeth
"Hey Rach," Elizabeth greeted as she answered the door.
"Hey Liz" Rachel replied.
"Listen Rach, is anyone else gonna go out with us to dinner?” Elizabeth asked.
"Why?" Rachel replied. “Oh, so now Brian and I aren’t good enough for you?”
“No, that’s not it at all! I was just wondering if anyone else was going.....I have a right to know,” Elizabeth said defensively. She grabbed her coat and followed Rachel out to her car.
"Wait a second....” Rachel began. “You want blondie to come, don’t you?" Elizabeth ignored her cousin’s question. “Hah! I knew it! You do like Nick!” Rachel accused.
“So what? Is that a mortal sin? Oh my God, shoot me now, I like somebody!” Elizabeth yelled to the sky playfully. Rachel watched her cousin dance around like a madwoman and rolled her eyes.
“Somebody else’s gonna be happy too,” she predicted.
“What’d you say, Rach?” Elizabeth asked as she got in the car.
“Oh, nothing....just talking to those voices in my head. You know all about that though,” Rachel teased.
Elizabeth didn’t even hear her cousin’s insult. “Huh? I’m sorry, I wasn’t listening,” she said thoughtfully.
Rachel laughed."I think someone by the name of Elizabeth is in love with someone by the name of Nick!” she replied knowingly.
Elizabeth turned a bright shade of red. “I know someone by the name of Elizabeth is in love with someone by the name of Nick!" she smiled.
