JR It's time once again for our weekly artist's spotlight feature, when we go back stage for an exclusive interview with today's most prolific new performers. We recently met up with the young men of Plus One to ask about their astonishing encounter with success in music and in ministry. It was just before the summer's big political conventions and they were about to embark on something that some might have considered controversial.
PO ...for instance, we are singing at the National Democratic Convention, which can be a little bit controversial with some Christians, and we really feel like this is a door that God's opened and we felt a peace about doing it. So we are going ahead and doing it, and we've got some fans writing in saying, "What are they doing!?" and someone else will be like, "What do you mean what are they doing, they are doing what God is supposed to do...and all that stuff... they are being salt and light to the world."
...We thought about for a long time...
..yeah but Judy came to us actually through David Foster who is our producer, produced a couple of tracks on our album...working with him, he has opened a lot of doors for us to get our music out - just to the masses. He told us about this democratic convention and we were like wow that would be a good opportunity but then we thought, you know it's definitely going to be controversial, but we thought...okay God give us wisdom ...should we do this or not....we thought, hey here we are and if we can bless someone with our music and just like keep a relationship then we are going to go ahead and do it. As far as like when we are working on our album - our album looks like a main street album with all credits - there are a lot of secular producers and God really opened up doors for us to talk with them. A lot was just behind the scenes stuff where we've built relationships with them to where they would come and ask us questions about our faith...we weren't preaching preaching preaching all the time. And so we said, hey that would be kind of cool to do that with people here at the democratic convention...just opening....just getting our music out there...if God can put us out to minister to anyone then we are going to do it.
