"In my life i've learned that Heaven never waits. Lets take this now before it's gone like yesterday." Kyla shouted as she gripped the wheel, turning a sharp curve. 'It's that feeling again' her concious screamed.
She jumped as her cell phone ranf. "Hello" she asked, a little startled.
"Hey sweetie. You at Justins yet?" Chris asked synpatheticly
"No. But everytime I see sign for the main highway there, I get a weird feeling." she said not quire understanding it.
"Well..... is there a different way to get there? Like backroads or something?" He raised his eyebroes. "Yea. I can get there that way. Wish me luck Chris." She said wiping a tear off of her cheek.
"Good luck sweets! I'll see you when you get back. Love you. Tell Justin that we all love him when you meet up with him." Chris said blankly, holding back tears.
They both hung up the phone, chris walking over to Kevin. "It's gonna be okay Kevin."
"Yea" Rebekah said "Think about how much better off she is now. Don't you feel better knowing that shes in a better place?" He shook his head, his lips shaking "She was fine with me." he hugger Chris letting tears slide down his cheeks as Joey walked over to the phone to call and cancle all of their plans for this week to give everyone time to sort some things out.
"Thats weird." She said pulling into the Harless lot and not seeing Justins car. "Hmmm....Maybe it's in the back. He should already be here."She walked up to the door and didnt even have time to ring the ball before she came face to face with paul.
"Umm...Kyla." he said trying very hard butnot very sucessfullyto hold back his pain. "I've got to tell you something. It's about Justin...He never made it here....he was..he....come with me." he said walking her inside they're cabin-like home and led the way to the couch as justins little brothers Jonothan and Steven climed up onto her lap. "I really don't know how to tell you this, Kyla...." he blinked letting a tear fall out of the corner of his eye. "....Kyla, I ..Justin was....Justin was driving here and he fell asleep,...and he ran into the other lane. I don't want to say this.....he's dead."
Tears stung her eyes and she let one slide down beside her nose. Steven turned around in her lap. "Wy are you crying Kay Kay? Please don't be sad! I don't like to see you cry." Steven said pating her hair and face. Uncontrolable sobs tumbles from her lips and tears rolled down her cheeks as she looked at all of the baby pictures of the person who used to be "hers".
"Please tell me your notbeing serious about this, Paul" She pleaded "He's not really....dead. Please he can't be!!!" she screamed slumping back on the couch. "Please don't be sad kay Kay. Justin's gonna be home soon and he can take care of you. He promised to play basketball with me. I want him to hurry!" Steve exclaimed is eyes twinkling with anticipation.
"Um...Steven,..Listen" Paul said more tears sliding down his cheek. "Okay" Steven replied.
"Baby Justin... wont be coming home...at all. Neither will mommie...they both died."
"Justins not gonna be able to play baskedball with me again? I can't talk to him anymore?" "No baby, he won't. Are you okay?"
"Daddy? Who decided to take people away from us?" "Well God does, JonJon... he needs them more than we do."
"Okay." Steven said waling over and hugging Kyla. "I love you Kay Kay" wiping her tears away. He pulled a blanked and a pillow over to his usual nap spot to sleep.
"Kevin? Why don't we go out? Like to the mall of something?" JC asked him. "It'll make ua feel better." Joey told him "I'll buy ya some spiderman stuff." Erica said sitting down beside Kevin on his bed. "Na Erica. I don't think so." Kevin said in a soft solemn boice.
"Yea Kevin!" Juli added "We could all go! It would be fun. "Chris and I will buy you lunch. "alright" Kevin said giving in.
"Ya having fun yet man?" Chris yelled from the opposite side of the waterfountin sitting in the middle of the mall. "Yea....Kinda" he said dodging wet pennys and quarters that were being pelted at him by Chris. Juli laughed covering her face. She walked over to sit with JC, Rebekah and Erica. "What? Kinda" What do you mean by Kinda?!?! I'm about to get kicked out of this place trying to make you laugh and your 'kinda' having fun?" Chris said surprized at Kevin's reply to his question. A half smile fell over Kevins face as he watched an officed walk up behind Chris grabbing him by his arm ad pullind him out of the fountin."Wha'd I tell ya?!" He yelled walking off with the officer as Juli's face turned red.
"come on guys. Lets get the nice security guard to let Chris go and drive gack to the hotell before he gets into anymore trouble." Juli said as everyone grabbed thier bags and followed the path that the officer made througs the crowd.
"I think me and Juli are gonna walk back okay?" Chris informed everyone. "I think I will too." Kevin and Joey chimed at the same time sothey set off JD, Lance, Rebekah and Erika in the car and the others walking. No one knows how but everyone seemed to drift off from everyone else.
"I love you Julianna" Chris said wraping his arms around her waist and leaning down to kiss her full lips.
"I love you too baby." she said breathing in the dep smell of his calogne.
"Excuse me. Joey Fatone?" a little girl said softly from behind him. "Can my mommie take a picture of me and you please?" she asked, hermouth stained with cherry kool-aid. "Sure, baby" he said leaning down and holding out his arms to pick her up. After he took a few more pictures and signed a couple of autographs he continued walked to the hotell, Just enjoying the feeling of the air.
Kevin walked through the park watching pairs and couples being happy and laughing. he wanted to be happy too buy he didnt think that he could ever possibly be happy again. 'Well maybe except when I..' He shook that thought out of his head for a while. Kevins tears glistened in th sunlight as he walded faster convinced that without Madison there wasent any point in happiness.
