"Go John!" I yelled over the music. We had just gotten back from a rehearsal and we were still pumped so I put in my Save The Last Dance Sdtk. and me, John, Megan, Alexa and Bryan(my dancers) were having our own little party. It was more of a dance around and act stupid thing. My mom's and my hotel room was big enough so it wouldn't look too trashed. Everything was great, that is, until the music stopped. I'm not sure who turned off the radio but I do remember straightening my back and seeing everyone's faces. They were all looking behind me.
"Let me guess. Someones in the door, right?" Various nodding. "And, I'm gonna cry about this later, aren't I?" I asked. "Most likely." Bryn said. My face immediatly dropped. First impressions are really important to me and I try not to look like a loser when I make them.
I combed through my hair with my hands, licked my lips, and pasted on a fake smile. With that I slowly turned around.
"Hi Angie!" I said and walked over to the door entrance and gave her a hug. "Your such a drama queen she said in my ear." I stepped back and saw she wasn't alone. By the door way were 3 guys who couldn't have been too far out of my age category, a guy who looked like a dad, and another who looked like a used car salesman.
"Why do you hate me so, that you make me look like a fool in front of people that don't know of my true intellect yet." I asked, glancing around. "Oh cut the bull Adina."Angie cried. I scowled at that awful nickname.
"These are the guys that your opening for. It's Isaac, Zac and Taylor." I shook hands with each of them and threw in a curteous smile, but I didn't allow my eyes to linger because I have tendency to really scrutinize people, but not until I knew they were comfortable around me or couldn't see me. I did however notice that each of them had a perfect buisness grip, that was undoubtedly practiced repeatedly.
"And this," Angie continued "Is Paul..." "Paul is fine, nice to meet you." he said gripping my hand. It was a quick, tight and sweaty grip that made me unconciously but secretivly wipe my hands on the back of my shorts. "And this is their father, Mr. Hanson?" "Yes, that's fine he said." and threw a wave at the end because he was on the other side of the hall going over some documents.
"Woaw, wait a minute, their dad's last name is Hanson. So, you all's last name is Hanson. Oh! I didn't know that was your name. I just thought it was a cool word you made up!" I said, excited by this discovery. Then, I stopped and thought about what I just said.
"Oh, my god. This hole I am digging myself just keeps gettin deeper and deeper." I turned to Angie "If you don't mind I'm gonna go crawl up in it now." I said nodding.
"You need to get more sleep hunny. Under your eyes is starting to get black." Angie said with concern. "I know, I didn't get to sleep until really late yesterday...or at least it felt really late."
Out of the corner of my eye I saw the guy with the longer hair, no Zac, I gotta learn these names. I saw Zac nudge......Taylor slightly and heard a whispered 'I told you.' Scenes of cheese and spots flew before my eyes and I saw the same spot from yesterday on Zac.
"Did I bump into you yesterday?" I asked. Not expecting this question he had to stop for a second. "Umm, yeah, I think so." "Oh, sorry about that, I thought you were a spot." I said. That didn't sound as well as it did in my head.
"Oh, don't worry about it I get that a lot." he said nodding. I was grateful for his humor and figured if I ever talked to him again I would explain it. Angie rushed everyone out and took all my dancer's out and shut the door behind her telling me to get some sleep before tonight, whatever tonight was.
I didn't really think about anything as my head hit the pillow. I didn't have time to because I was out a second later.
