My detailed concert experience

I have had requests for a detailed description of the concert I went to on April 15, 1999. So here it is. ****These are not necesarily in chronological order because the concert WAS about 2 months ago so I don't remember it exactly. Keep in mind that Justin is my favorite member, so I was basiacally looking at him the whole time. If it seems like I'm being biased... sue me.****

After Blaque was done, it was about 8:30. I started talking to this mom that was next to me. She was really nice, and she had her daughter and neice with her. Natalie, her daughter was my age, and her neice was my sister's. So all 4 of us started talking about um, lemme try to remember, oh yeah..... NSYNC duh. All of a sudden, we hear this blood curdling SCREAM from the left back side of the arena. We turn and look and there are about 20 girls, all with cameras, frantically taking pictures of backstage. The whole friggin audience runs over there to see. Using our common sense (being sarcastic here) we SPRINT, I'm talking about hurding, diving to see who may have come out. When we got there (ladies, I have NEVER run so fast in my entire life) all we saw was Tatiana Ali's dancers and some body guards. It turned out that Joey came out and waved or something. I was so disappointed. I figured they would come out again, so I stay put. All around you can hear girls shreiking, "Oh my God!! Is that Joey's dad?", "Ahhh! It's my favorite body guard!!!" and all that other good stuff. Behind us are these 2 party-poopers who were being SO rude. I figured it was cuz their seats were out in the boondocks.

Anyways, after about 10 minutes of nothing, I reluctantly start to head back with Natalie. The nano-second we get out of place, "AHHHHHH!!!!". So I run back, and of course, no one is there. I swear, the whole place was playing a giant trick on me or something. By that time, I was like screw it. I'm going back to my seats and waiting for the concert. Instead, I go to the only steps were there isn't a guard and camp out. Let me tell you, it was the longest 20 minutes of my life just sitting there. It was quite amusing though, seeing all the different types of people that went. After 8 million Phil Collins songs, I was getting a LITTLE TEENY BIT impatient. Luckily, the lights went out right when I was about to throw myself over the railing of boredem.

Um, WOW, yeah, I have NEVER heard so many high pitched voices at such small an area. The screaming went on forever! The stage was still dark though. Out comes this huge glow-in-the dark monster thing. You can't see the guys though. It's just this scary looking creature stomping around on the right side of the stage. Then it's dropped. And of course, the screaming (including my own) got 38 billion decibals higher. NSync comes out in the RADDEST outfits. They're glow-in-the dark monster outfits. It's so tight!!! For all ya'll Justin fans, Justin is the one with the blue hair. The guys jump around the stage for awhile and then pick up these glow in the dark sticks. They do this incredibly complicated and so cool looking routine where they pass the sticks around. Brilliantly choreographed. They did not miss one single step, yup, not even Lance.

NSync comes out singing "Crazy for You". Justin is wearing black pants, a white shirt, and a baby blue Adidas vest. JC is wearing black pants, and a long-sleeved Adidas shirt. Chris is wearing black pants, and a jersey, but I forgot which one. Joey is wearing black pants and a red long sleeved shirt. Lance is wearing black Adidas warm-ups, and a white Adidas shirt (the same outfit at the autograph signing in "N the Mix". So anyways, back to the song. They're singing "CFY" and the only thing I'm waiting for is to see Justy's lovely little pelvic thrust at the "uh uh uh" part. Quit rolling your eyes, you KNOW what I'm talkin about. Anyways, I get my camera ready, and I miss it! But mind you, I did catch it at the second verse and it was perfectly done.

During "For the Girl" they do a chair routine right? Lemme tell you, I have never seen nor could I have ever imagined the possibilities and wonders of a plastic folding chair. There's this part where they freak it, and mmmmm mmmm does Justin do this with great naturality. Hmmm...

The lights go off and the big screen is turned on. They show clips of big events that happened in the 60's. And you hear "AND THAT'S HOW IT WAS IN THE 60'S". Then, the guys come out in maroon and black velvet (yuck) and sing "That Thing You Do". It was so cute! Again, the lights go off and they do a 70's decade thing, and come out in Jackson 5 attire and do a J5 medley. The choreography here is unbelievable. The 80's, they do Cool and the Gang. Then for the 90's they do "I Want You Back", or "You Got It". I forgot. All I know is they came out in long sleeved shirts, with flames up the sleeves.

For another wardrobe change, they got into Tommy Hilfiger basketball jerseys with leather jackets over them. Lance comes out first and says "You know, there's something about this crowd. You guys are different from last night's. And I was thinking about what it was, and I firgured it out. God must have spent ::frantic cheering:: a little more time on you." Or something like that. And they sing "GMHS". Okay, here's the best part of the whole concert. At the end, Justin is singing the last line. He goes, "God must have spent, a little more tiiiiiiime...." and pauses for like 5 minutes just looking around looking too fine for words. "A little more tiiiiiiime". Pause ::crowd hollers::. He does this about 3 times. Each time just looking around making the cutest facial expressions ever. Then Chris comes over and whispers something in his ear and he smiles and says "a little more time.... :: puts finger up to his lips, the whole venue is silent:: on youuuuuuuuu". Godalmighty, I could have died right there.

They do an a cappela version of "I Drive Myself Crazy". Chris talks about how a cappela is their basis and stuff. I swear, he sounds like a mouse his voice is so high! During "IDMC", they bring about 10 girls up there. Grrrrr. Some were hoes, some were teenyboppers, some were normal. Joey, the hound that he is, sings and stares at this one girl the whole song. Lord, I'd be scared. They also showed the "U Drive Me Crazy" video. "UDMC" is my 2nd fave NSync song, and the vid was hilarious. I don't have the CD, so I must live on WAVS of it. Ahh.

They perform "Sailing" on stools at first. Then, JC gets lifted up on a wire, and literally sails over the audience. The other 4 soon follow, and before you know it, NSyncers are all around you. God is good ya know that? The location were I was at gave me the perfect view of Justin. He was doing flips and for like a minute, all you could see was his butt. I look over at Chris, and he looks sort of faint. Then I remember that he's scared of heights. Ah, poor thing. Justy flies RIGHT OVER ME and waves. Oh man, I was about to pee in my pants right then and there. They get back down and finish off the song. I have to say it right now, JC has the most amazing voice. It is purely God-given talent.

The last song performed is "Tearin' Up My Heart". The stamina they must have is truly inhuman. To jump around nonstop for 2 hours is crazy. But they do it. They fly over the audience once more at the very end.

Folks, it was one of the greatest nights of my life going to the concert. I was going through withdrawls for 2 weeks after it. But it was all worth it. NSync are amazing performers. And their live show is without a doubt, the best part of their music.
