History
6 Fifty Per Shoe is a punk/ska band from 3 small new jersey towns. The band with its current line-up has been playing since May 2001. But that isn't when the band actually came together. It ALL started on a normal day 1998, when a few of band-geeks(jake,matt,t.j.,a.j.) decided to use their musical talent and love for fun music and start a band. At the time all they had was a guitarist/singer, and 3 horn players(and went through many different 4th horn players but that didn't work out). They asked a friend named dave to play drums for them and he did so gladly. All the band needed was a bass player and they were ready to go. But that steady bass player was never there. So jake moved to bass and a young fellow named brad stepped in. Jake could no longer handle full-time bass/singing duties so the band asked his cousin, Josh to step in and he did. The band was ready to play. However, brad soon lost time and interest and at the same time the band wanted someone new. On the same day brad left, a friend of matts who he hadn't heard from in a long time called him out of the blue to see how he was doing. It just so happened that this young lad had taken up guitar since the two last talked. His name was/is pat. As the band entered high school they met the 4th horn player they had always wanted, arran. They band began practicing alot and writing music and opening any shows they could for practice and experience in the scene, and did so for over a year. But in April 2001, Dave left the band and the boys were unsure of what to do. They knew no local drummers that were good/reliable enough to play. Jake (who actually taught dave how to play drums) decided he would move over to drums, for his 3rd instrument move in band history, and get a good friend, jon, to play bass. The band has been playing with this line-up since and has gotten SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER everytime they have played. And that's the crazy story of the shoe.
