I guess you could say I have lead a semi-charmed life. I was lucky that's all. My life didn't start out like that you see. My mother gave birth to me when she was just turning 18, not even out of high school. Not only that, she gave up my brother for adoption. My twin to be exact. If you think this is a story about how one of the guys just happens to be my long lost brother, guess again.
To find out the true story, read on…
I was only six when I met two of my closest friends. At that age, the family wasn't famous and they were normal, never mind the fact they had an older brother off in Europe. But at that age, I had no clue where Europe was, it could be the next town, county or state for all I knew.
But that's not the point the point is that I met Aaron and Angel Carter on that day, only six with a boy, Scott who was a brother yet not one. We grew to be friends over the summer and by the time kidnegarden rolled around, I had two more people to call almost siblings.
School was okay; we learned the ABC's and slept most of the time…that's the good life. Of course it only gets better when the promise of Christmas rolled around. When Mrs. Carter picked us up we looked and sounded as if we had just downed 3 bottles of jolt and we technically we did.
We drove up the Carter's long driveway, not even stopping at the place Scott and I had called home for the past six months. Out on the porch were five guys. The youngest looked a lot like Aaron, and only about 8 years older.
We met all of them, from Kevin…to Aaron and Angel's brother Nick. My favorite was Brian. Needlessly to say I was his shadow whenever I was at the Carter house, which was many times. The two people that took Scott and myself in were fighting; they had been like that for the past month.
Many months went by, the two of us spent night after night with our best friends and didn't realize what was going on.
A few weeks before school ended, Mrs. Carter drove the 4 of us home. But unlike any other day, she dropped Aaron and Angel off taking Scott and I to a building all to familiar to us.
"Sweeties I'm going to leave you here with this nice man, Mr. Brown, okay?" Mrs. Carter kneeled to our level.
"No, why are you leaving?" Scott attached himself to her neck.
"Sweetie I have to. Mr. Brown is going to have you meet your new families." She comforted.
"But why can't you be our family." I said softly still in the place that she lead me to, right next to this Mr. Brown.
"I would love to, hunny but I can hardly keep up with my own as it is. I'll make sure you will always remember you and me can call whenever. I love you two." She kissed both our heads and left the building.
Leaving us to ourselves, Scott and I huddled together. Only being 6, we didn't understand that we would get a new mommy or daddy. We had never had one. Mr. Brown ushered us into his office. Our stuff was in the corner, not that we had much to begin with.
Mr. Brown left for a while and soon he came back, with a man following him.
Scott and I huddled closer together; we were our last link to the Carter's. The strange man paced a little and fidgeted.
"Rachel, Scott would you like to meet your new Daddy?" Mr. Brown
Both Scott and I nodded and the other man knelt down and took off his sunglasses and hat.
"Brian?" I asked in confusion.
"Hey sweetie," he greeted, "are you ready to go home?" he took our hands and nodded to Mr. Brown. We left, our stuff already put in the car.
So this is the first in the re-write of Time of Your Life. To many plot holes in it, along with big blobs of text…oh my. Well the story will be longer this time, better described, and hopefully you'll like it.
Please if you read this, could you review it? I love to get them, and I tend to write more. But if you hate it, tell me so, and I'll still write.
Until Always, Elizabeth
