The voice made a realization, You think that if they think you don't love
them they'll stop loving you? Not in this life time. Now go back.
Lana suddenly could no longer control her feet, she had turned around and
was walking back toward the hotel. Now Lanie, the voice explained, there are
two ways we can do this. You can cooperate, and I can make you the happiest
girl alive, or we can do it your way and I'll make you the most miserable
bitch on the face of this earth!
"Stop!" she screamed, "Who are you? What do you want from me?"
Suddenly the voice was silent, and Lana found herself outside of Brian's
hotel room, knocking on the door. The door opened, then Brian began to slam
it closed, but she stopped him, "Brian, I'm sorry about last night. That
should've been you -- I wish it had been you."
No you don't.
"Yes I do!"
"What?" he asked, confused.
Lana looked desperation and exasperated, "Brian, I never meant to hurt you
-"
If you kill him, you'll never be able to hurt him again.
"NO!" Lana snapped, then sighed, "Look, Brian, I can't explain what's going
on. And even if I could I don't think you'd believe me -- just, please, you
have to stay away from me."
Brian looked at her sourly, "You came here to break up with me? It was
pretty clear you weren't interested this morning."
"Brian!" she pleaded, "Remember what I said. No matter what happens, I love
you. I just can't be with you right now, it's not safe."
"Oh, but you can be with AJ."
"Brian!" Lana felt her temper flaring and knew it was a dangerous time to
lose control. She might never get it back.
"I'm sorry," she whispered, then turn and fled from the building.
********
Where the hell are you going?
"Leave me alone!"
Not until the music stops.
Lana froze. "The music," she whispered, "...from the dream. What -- what do
you want from me? Who are you?"
What Lana, you don''t recognize me? the voice changed then, it went from the
harsh crackling to a deep soft voice.
A shiver went up Lana's spine, she knew that voice, "But you're --"
Dead? Lanie, babe, you should know by now that I can never be killed.
