The foundation which is headed by Atty. Babaylan has
offered a good strategy in solving the pollution crisis.
They distributed a number of garbage cans; they have
different signs, the biodegradable and the hazardous.
They have been orienting the people to have a proper
sanitation. A good result was observed especially in
Brgy. 13. The place has been transformed, though
garbages are still visible, it is not that fatal
anymore.

ProjectsThe people of Balulang have made an
effective way of preserving the richness of the river.
200km from the Twin River, there was a constructed
machine which is responsible for trapping the garbages
that passes the river. The water flowing to the Twin
River is in a way clean because its trash has been
trapped.
A running Barangay Captain of Isla
Delta, Mr. Elexes Julius Paalam, 29 year old stated his
solution to this problem. According to him, they will be
giving away trashcans to the people in their locality.
One trashcan for every 4-5 houses, there will also be
assigned street cleaners every day not only in the
morning but it would include the entire day.

Proper Orientation and Education
Ignorance is one factor that would hinder the
people in attaining success. This is true with the
condition of the people living near the river. They
really don't know about the great help that the river
has given them, they are also not aware of the
consequences of their actions. They throw their wastes
in the river but they also do their washing in the
river, some of them even take a bath in the river. The
answer to this problem is proper orientation and
education to the people, this is to equip them with the
knowledge they need in order to rehabilitate the water.
With this, they will be also aware that their actions
may lead to their own destruction and danger.
Self-discipline
"We are the masters of
our fate, the captain of our souls." That saying is true
and it will always be. We, the people need to start the
answer in our own. We first need to discipline our own,
we should not be tempted to throw our trashes in the
river. This is the most effective way of solving the
problem. Even how many orientations we attend if we cant
even control ourselves, nothing will happen; it will
just be another failure. Self-discipline is the key. Let
the change start from within.
