Drummer

My name is Mike Buscombe and I am back in Melbourne. I have been playing drums since I was about 5 years old. The picture below is of me playing in the famous Japanese Beatles Band at the Cavern Bar in Tokyo. Have a look at Terraplane's website for more photos.
I was born in Melbourne and lived there until I was about 25, playing in various rock bands around Melbourne, including "Lizard", "Blue Tongue" and "Chance".
That was in the good old days when there were rock 'n' roll venues all over town like The Mountain View Hotel, The Manhattan, The Whitehorse Inn (Suck more p--- as Thorpey used to scream at the audience there)and the Prospect Hill Hotel.
At 25 I moved overseas to Singapore. After spending 3 years there, I returned once more to Melbourne and played in bands again until 1990 when I moved to Tasmania to purchase a hotel and restaurant. After playing in Tasmanian Rock Bands "Cry Wolf" and "Faultline", a friend and brilliant musician from California, Pat Tilley, introduced me to the Blues. His band "Terraplane" had been around for many years and their drummer had moved to Victoria. I rehearsed for a couple of weeks with them and then joined the Band. Terraplane released a CD "Don't Tell Me I'm Wrong", recorded and mixed in our own studio, and played as support for international bands visiting Tasmania. A highlight was a week at the Hard Rock Hotel in Bali in September 2001.
I have filled in in bands during my travels around the world, including Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, USA and recently at the Cavern in Japan in a Beatles Band. I pride myself in having a good ear and being able to fill in with any band. It is years since I read charts and I don't even bother any more.

I moved back to Melbourne permanently in July 2007 and am now the Drummer with Melbourne Based 60's 70's and 80's Rock N Roll Band, The Sociables. Check us out at the website below.
