Known as possibly the second greatest fictional band ever, FREEZE GOPHER adds a sense of humor to the blues-rock-funk-soul-jazz-“Satchmo meets Elvis” music that has left virtually thousands speechless. Well… it make J.B. laugh! Let us introduce you to the band: “Founding Father” Steve Lefebvre wares many hats (that’s why he has a bald spot). This multi talented individual has been the founder, leader, guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, arranger, producer, and instigator of what he terms “a dream come true.” Drawing from an amazing array of influences, Steve really has been a musician for more than twenty years, playing in rock, blues, country, big band jazz, and progressive rock groups since 1984. He most recently played with Savage Bliss at Johns Alley in Moscow. Laurel Lefebvre too is known for the many hats that she wares. Bass player, keyboardist, and penny whistle virtuoso, and Seattle Mariners fan, Laurel has juggled gaining several academic degrees from Washington State University with a grueling, yet minimal, touring schedule as well as being a wife and mother. Stevie “thunder foot” Lefebvre may be the most amazing aspect of the group. Only seven and a half years of age on the opening (and last) afternoon of the bands first (and last) gig, Stevie, a natural at drumming and entertainment as a whole finds time to pursue many interests. When asked about Stevie’s drumming, bassist and mother Laurel Lefebvre said, “He’s had kick drum foot from the beginning”. A natural entertainer, Stevie is a second grader at Jefferson Elementary School in Pullman, WA.
