There are keys to answers in our lives. But they are not necessarily handed to us on a silver platter. Those keys are hard to get. They're hidden and concealed in places that we really don't want to go. Those precious keys are laying in plain sight in rooms that we refuse to enter.
I so very clearly remember opening doors in my life and peeking in at the room, glancing around and seeing what was in there waiting for me, seeing the key on the polished table way far across the room, opposite the door. If I could have, I'd have kept my feet outside the door and leaned into the room, holding the doorframe with one hand and reaching with my other hand for the key! But, it doesn't seem to work that way. The key isn't easy to reach. You have to come in to get it.
And sometimes the door slams shut behind you and you can't get back out for a while. You have to stay put and endure it. You have to get comfortable with this room and experience it. You have to learn about this room before you can get that key to answers in your life. Sometimes the key seems to be glued to the table top so that you can't rush in and grab it and run out.
You pry at it and you pull at it and you rush around looking for a tool in the room, a crowbar, a screwdriver, glue dissolvent fluid!!! And the key remains on that table while you sweat and work and try to get it loose. You may as well relax and go take a seat over there for a while and listen to the room. The room has things to tell you. Some of these rooms are unpleasant and repulsive. But that doesn't mean they are useless. They can hold some very dear answers and keys in spite of their appearance. They can have valuable lessons inside of those walls that crawl with things you have run from. You have to find a way to endure that room. Beyond that moment, beyond that time, beyond that discomfort lies something well worth the wait.
Beyond lies understanding. Beyond lies patience. Beyond lies peace. Beyond lies joy. Beyond lies contentment. Beyond lies hope. Beyond lies spirituality. And beyond lies freedom! Sweet sweet freedom!!!
I hope you find all your keys to this world. The doors seem to be endless in a hallway that stretches from here to eternity. Open all the doors you can while you can.
