Fear is a thing that can make you sad
Fear can be as tiny as a dime
Fear can be conquered
With a thought from the mind
I wonder if you can read what I have written
The unknowing thoughts Im giving
To relate to all that you see
And give in to what should truly be
But if your back is turned away
You'll never read what I have to say
Look inside and you will find
All that I rhyme enclosed in mind
I never thought that I'd discover
This strong of feeling for another
But all the same I will always treasure
A hand in mine a splendid pleasure
Let me brush the canvas of your mind
In and out my words will wind
Up and down and over and through
An artist and a sketchpad, so I drew . . .
I drew up a dream that was sweetly serene
An image a thought never completes
But it's sweet nonetheless
With its flowing progress
Granted occasion by rhythmical phrases
To lay out a scene at the feet of a guest
An intimate moment at a courtier's behest
Or a phantom of speech that haunting entreats
Words will flaunt then recede
Down some mist-obscured street
Ascend, slow, up the stair
and then disperse, into calm air
Toss and turn at night
From a dreamless state
Running to and from
At the same time
Where can we go?
To hide, to dream
To hold someone
We love for the last time
To say I love you for all eternity
Some things we wish for
May come true someday
So lay still in your bed at night
Dream those wonderful dreams
Sleep endlessly till dawn
Awake not for trouble?
But for gladness
Open your eyes
Not as an adult but a child
Sing the glory of those
Dreams still to come
Grasp the hope that lies
Deep in your heart
And say I love you to those
You meet in your dreams
Never fear change
For all of life is change
To fear change is to fear life
Rather, change fear
Into confidence
Into hope
Into anticipation
For change will surely come
And even if that change
Ultimately brings pain
It is still far better
For your peace of mind
To change fear
Than it is to fear change
Time has a way of softening
Eroding away all hard and harsh memories
A lot of time has past since you left me
And the memory of you has eroded
To a small pebble
Washed away by my tears
Believe in dreams cause don't you know
If you don't believe they'll never be so
They only fade when we lose hope
This is something only we can choose
And when we let our dreams fade off
What a pity, we all lose
Hold your dreams and cherish them
For they belong only to you
Having them is better
Than giving up and saying you're through
That's why I'll hang on
And hope you do to
This is a promise
I'll never stray
Don't lose sight of your dreams
And they'll come true...Someday
