Bryan's Page

Hello, I'm Bryan as you might know. I'm going to try to summarize the events that have happened since we moved here.

Apart from the day-to-day school stuff, I've also started bowling in at least one league a week. Kris and I started off bowling on a Monday afternoon league with gutter stoppers. We actually won that league after the first season. We started consistently bowling better, and we've swapped to a Wednesday no gutter stopper league. That year I also started bowling with my friend on Tuesday. I have to say that it helped my skill in bowling by having two leagues a week. Now I am still in both Tuesday and Wednesday leagues, and sometimes fill in for Mum or Dad whenever either are not there. My average is around 135.

About the same time I started bowling, I also began piano lessons. I've entered all but one of the Eisteddfods (a music competition) and my best outcome is 5th place. I'm hoping this year is my time to shine!

A thing that most definitely has entered my life a lot since we moved is the computer and internet. I've created and maintained my own internet site (which you can see here) It has been online for about 3 1/2 years now.

I've also spent many hours on my computer and as a result have become very computer literate. I feel very comfortable with the Windows operating system. As you can see from a picture below I got a new, whiz bang computer for my birthday this year which I love!Among many other things, I have logged over 500 hours on my three flight simulators and have gone from many, many crashes to practically none.

Speaking of flying, Dad and I have gone up in a real plane on many occasions which is very fun. It's something I think we both enjoy doing. I hope to start ground school soon so I can get my pilot's license!

Another activity I enjoy is cycling. A couple of years ago, Dad, Kris and I completed what we called the "Clements Challenge," which was to ride up to the summit of Mt. Canobolas, the highest point between here and the Indian Ocean. The ride was about 36 km (22 miles) round trip and we trained for about half a year before we finally finished the ride in January, 2000. For Christmas one year, I got a very nice bike which I have ridden about 700 km.

Well, I'll finish writing so you can see some pictures. See you!

February 2004 Well, we've decided to update these pages a little, to let you know what's happened since the last time we wrote in them... Firstly, probably the biggest thing that's happened is that I now hold my pilot's license under the Australian Ultralight Federation, flying an Australian-built Jabiru aircraft (to see this great little plane, see the picture on the bottom of the page).

I'm still bowling on a couple of leagues a week, with an average of around 145. I also fill in for either parent if they're away for their Wednesday league.

I am in Year 10, or 10th grade this year. Classes this year begin to count towards the "school certificate," so it should mean that I'll have a bit more school work.

April 2004
Just a quick update to let you all know that I now have my Learner's drivers license! I've driven twice since I got it, and I'll need to drive for at least 50 hours in the next year to be able to try for my Provisonal 1 license (P's).
