Santa Cruz Blues Festival  May 26, 2001

Jonny and the band played as the closing act after a day filled with blues music from 4 other awesome groups. ** Found a new blues man to love - Hamilton Loomis! If you haven't checked  out his music, do it! His lastest cd, All Fired Up, is the best one out of the three that I bought. He is self described as "funky blues". Jonny played for about one hour and forty five minutes. The only new song he played was Irish Angel and the crowd went wild. We had 6th row seats, and the security guards didn't let anyone stand up by the stage during the show. This was great for two reasons. 1) the stage was only about 3 ft off the ground, so if people HAD been standing right at the stage, you wouldn't have been able to see much and 2) the guards were letting all photographers  go right up to the stage to take their pictures!!! This was awesome for me because I was able to take about 30 great pictures with no one in my way!!! As expected, he played the standards, which included:

Still Rainin' (I love that he opens his shows with this song because
it really sets the mood!)
Rack Em Up
Good Morning Little School Girl
I Am
Before You Hit The Ground (which led into Levy)
A Quitter Never Wins
Breakin Me
and the encore was Lie To Me

I may have left out a couple of songs. Can't remember, but I think that was all for this show. This was the first time Jonny had headlined the blues festival here in Santa Cruz and although not much of the crowd was up dancing and singing, the section we were in was rockin'!!!!! Of course that' s because WE were there!! hehehe
So, enjoy the pictures. I didn't tag them but I trust that everyone
will respect my wishes that you don't reproduce them. Thanks!
