Great music but now as good as his others...

Being Jonny's first real album, this is a wonderful box of tricks.
But, if you really want to hear Jonny's best work, buy "Wander This World"
and "Lie To Me". The youth in Jonny's voice sometimes makes these cuts
unappealing and make them seem exactly what they are - that a kid is singing.
The themes in these songs don't mix with Jonny's pre-pubescent voice, but
offer a good ride if anything. I'd recommend this album if you want to
have all of Jonny's CDs. I'm not saying this is bad album but you can tell
that this is his first, but not at all the least.
fan from the start

Being from Minnesota and having traveled all across the state to see
him perform, I have adored Jonny Lang for years. For those slamming Smokin',
do you realize he hadn't even been playing for a year when he recorded
this album. I'd like to see you learn the guitar (at 14), record an album,
and book sold out shows across your state all within one year. Sure he's
no SRV - give him 20 more years then you can compare.
Young but still great!

I have wrote a review for theis album before but that was before I
had actually
listened to the CD. Now I have lisrened to it, and I love it. Jonny is
a exceptional
guitar player and I am glad that he has put out two other great albums,
"Lie to e,"
and "Wander This World." I have now seen Jonny twice in concert and I have
enjoyed it both times and can't wait to see im again! Once again a great
album, and let me say all the musicians on this album deserve credit! They
are all great!

Loved this CD from the git go. Great guitar & great voice. I can
only imagine how
much better he'll get with age. I've heard his other CD's but this one
gets my vote. I
especially like Louise & "E" Train but that's not to say the others
aren't good. These
are just my first preferences.

the man sings like a weathered black man well known on the alleys of
the down and out.
