The Champions...

The game against St. Werburghs PC on April 7th 2002 was a momentous one for Chester City ISA FC. The lads knew that a win would clinch them their first ever silverware, the Onion Bag Fanzine Chester and District Sunday League Section D Championship. They duly obliged, dispatching the visitors 5-0 on the Imps, and the following pictures record a great day...

Nervous? Us? Never!?!... More grimaces than smiles, as the pre-match nerves start to get to the backsides of one or two of the squad!

Back row (left to right) - Mark Howell, Steve Painter (captain), Scott Ditchfield, Tommy Hollinger, Kevin Thomas, Lee Miller, Andy Johnson, Jonathan Hocking, Mickey Gorst (physio), Andy Caswell, Dave Painter (asst. physio)

Front row (left to right) - Alun Griffiths, Steven Sandbach, Steve Mann, Paul Brighton (Player Assistant Manager), James Green, Graeme Reynolds, Paul Brazier (Player Manager), Tommy Johnson

Johnson adjusts his sock, obviously blaming it for missing another sitter(!). Thomas 'just walks away' disgusted.

'Form is temporary, class is permanent' or so they say. Look at the quality across the middle of the Imps in this picture. (left to right) Steve Mann, Scott Ditchfield, Graeme Reynolds, Paul Brazier and Paul Brighton.

The bench take a well earned rest after walking from the changing rooms! The seated Tommy Johnson, Andy Caswell, Alun Griffiths, Lee Miller and Steve Sandbach, and the standing Gorst family, enjoying the soothing calm of the warm Blacon sun on the 'Curva Canal-Side' at the Imperials .

Relax ladies, he's spoken for. Dave Melson models one of the ISA FC training tops sponsored by North West Law. A regular in the side, defender 'Mellor' had a torn muscle and was forced out of action for this game.
