Poem For Emily
So stillness and hearts not faded
and innocence never jaded
so subtly she may walk
and smilingly she may talk
And mingled with dew
in fresh morning hues
feathered in deep cascades
quietly earth-mother plays
From shadowed, amber crest
flowers gently rest
toll beyond giggling rhyme
into trancendental chimes
As fallen rain over grass
youth's eyes to reflected glass
Still, the heart beats in rythm
and yeilds a butterfly prism
Shatter not the years to come
May the smile never be quite done
So too, the walk shall never ground
The flight of innocence unbound!
For you, sweet, joyful Emily...
may the passing years turn tenderly.
and that your hopes and dreams come true
of a love that rings innocence & youth!
