VENUE (ven'u) or VISNE (ven)

The neighborhood; the county in which a particular lawsuit should be tried; the county from which the jury is taken for the trail of a lawsuit. Often regulated by various state and federal statutes. A change of venue is the sending of a lawsuit to be tried before a jury of another county, e.g., when circumstances render it impossible to have an impartial trial in the county where the cause of action arose.

VICARIOUS LIABILITY

Substituted or indirect responsibility, e.g., the responsibility of an employer for the torts committed by his employee within the scope of his employment.

VOID

Of no force or effect; absolutely null.

VOIDABLE

Descriptive of an imperfect obligation, which may be legally annulled or cured or confirmed, at the option of one of the parties, e. g., the contract of an infant with an adult.
