I first read this poem many years ago, and it often pops into my mind I guess when I'm having problems and feel that no one, not even God is listening to me. I recently found it on the web and wanted to post it here, as I find the words to be quite inspirational in those dark moments.
Broken Dreams
As children bring their broken toys
With tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God
Because He was my friend.
But then instead of leaving Him
In peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help
With ways that were my own.
At last I snatched them back and cried,
"How could you be so slow?"
"My child," He said, "what could I do?"
"You never did let go."
Addendum -- Matthew 14:31
"Immediately Jesus reached out
his hand and caught him.
You of little faith, he said,
why did you doubt?"
